Yeah I thought a lot of this was pretty interesting. From DeCosta's perspective, he had basically an entire year to think about what he wants to do, and it seems like this was a decision made a long time ago. It's a tough position to be in. Weddle is a really good player (even with him losing a step) and played a big part in our defense, but he's also 34. I'm not so sure it had to do as much with his play as it is just getting younger for the new wave of this team. As much as I like Weddle, I'm glad that door is seemingly closed though, because I do think it's time to usher in a new era.
I'm really curious to see what the "other plans" are.
