2019 Baltimore Orioles

Nice to see the O's blow the Sox out!

Their pitching has been terrible this season, no surprise.

Update: Number one pick in 2020 MLB Draft is between us and the Tigers. Tigers lead with only 29 wins compared to our 30 wins, going to be a tight one but we've secured a top two pick based on the rest of the standings.

So, today was not as fun...

On the bright side, Stevie threw 16 out of 20 pitches for strikes.

Beating Boston is good no matter what the circumstances.

It was weird seeing Adam in a different uniform.

Do you guys prefer to win a couple more (meaningless) games and get the 2nd or 3rd pick or is the 1st pick more valuable to you?

I don't think the 1st pick will be as important if the draft is deeper than last year's.

Its more important to get some of our young guys used to winning.

If Boston doesn't improve their pitching, they will be the reason we have the second or third pick because we'll just keep beating them.

Analysts said the 2019 Draft wasn't very strong but say the 2020 Draft is stacked with depth.

Great look at Bowie's starting rotation and guys to watch in the future:

Wanted to show Aberdeen IronBirds are kicking butt too.

3 of our starters are at 2.41 ERA or lower. Our bullpen is comprised mainly of our draft picks from this year. The 3rd,4th and 7th rd picks are playing really well and comprising the top part of our lineup. Right now our best player Toby Welk (21st rd) is hitting at an extremely high .385 avg.

Our future looks bright.

Shorebirds are doing great too.

And then here's a tweet from Luke Siler:
The #Orioles didn’t draft a pitcher until the 8th round in the 2019 draft.

They ended up with 18.

Those pitchers have thrown 155 innings.

Their combined ERA is 1.45.

10.34 K/9, 2.73 BB/9

(Obvious caveat that they are all college pitchers in Rookie or SS ball)

Yeah the age caveat is a big one with a lot of these guys and they will be tested as they move up the ranks. Still good to see them do well though. This guy has already been promoted to Delmarva and hasn't looked out of place although he has only pitched 3 innings.

Also happy to see I am not the only one following Luke on twitter ;)
