it absolutely isn't debatable. he is the right man for the job and putting someone on a short leash right after they are hired is absolutely absurd.
You basically saying you are hired, but you're on the hot seat. Shear stupidity
This would be true.... If he was truly a new hire.
He's not. And have you really liked the philosophy the team has "adopted" since the super bowl, where supposedly he got more and more say. It's insane if you do. The team has been stuck in the Stone Age. Not in regards to analytics. Giving Brandon Williams that insane contract. Drafting bums like Elam. Not investing high level capital in the trenches THAT ARE WORTH IT. Not taking the pass rush or the center position seriously. Not investing in the offensive positions.
How much of it is his fault? Not to say, but to say he's "perfect for the job" is an unknown.
So yes. Give him a short leash. He has the chance to build his own team. He has a franchise QB with loads of promise. If in four years we do not give Lamar an adaquate supporting cast and a defense, the tools to grow... That'll be enough of a sample size to know that he sucks.
I'm being realistic. We don't know what we have and are about to do the clean slate. What we've seen is actually less than promising from the front office since 2012. Two playoff appearances in 6 years. Not a good hit rate.
I'm skeptical. I hope he's good, but based off of how our philosophy has likely molded him, I've had my doubts.
