Correct. Diversity was important, qualifications were not. It'd be impossible to argue they were.
If you think that simply hiring a minority means it can't be a discriminatory hire, then you're part of the problem.
Not only is the dumbest argument I've heard in a while, the kicker here is Pierce OUTPERFORMED like 75% of interim coaches. He was 5-4 and stayed on for another season. He did well for himself and will probably get a DC gig, maybe in Cincy.
