Not only is the dumbest argument I've heard in a while, the kicker here is Pierce OUTPERFORMED like 75% of interim coaches. He was 5-4 and stayed on for another season. He did well for himself and will probably get a DC gig, maybe in Cincy.

lol if he did well for himself, he'd still be a HC. Or will get another HC gig for another team based on "him doing well for himself".
I'll bet he's not a HC or coordinator in the NFL at all this year.
Interim coaches, pretty universally, all suck. Comparing him to other interim coaches is like comparing two Burger flippers at McDonalds. The bar is so fucking low that nobody even cares, because if the teams were smart, they'd start all over anyway. Just took the Raiders longer than others to figure it out.

For the Ravens sake, I sure as fuck hope he gets the Bengals DC gig. There's nothing to suggest he's a great defensive coach, and that team needs major personnel upgrades everywhere on a team that doesn't spend $. That would be great news for the Ravens. My $ is he'll be on ESPN by the Summer. If he decides to work at all.

The Raiders have now requested permission to interview Todd Monken. This is going to be weird watching teams poach our offensive staff for once, when we are used to it being defensive coaches that leave.

It sounds like they were worried that they weren't going to be able to attract a coach (that they actually want) that was going to be willing to work with him.

Jacksonville may suffer the same fate.
