2025 Offseason Thread

Maybe a Justin Fields. Until I see them struggle I feel like they got better tho, I am glad they shipped off one of their good WRs tho
I feel like most of steelers moves have been side grade moves. Like trading Pickens for Metcalf doesn't feel like an upgrade to me. And I think the steelers would've been better served by keeping Wilson or fields instead of signing rodgers

1. That hat is hard

2. This makes a lot of sense. I know a lot of people clown JAD but his main issue (outside of that trial by fire his rookie year) has always been health, not play. They love how he practices and plays when he's out there.

it was him trading snaps with wiggins before wiggins came on strong and JAD got injured (again)

any sort of cross training as a CB3/4/5 gives him more opportunities to get on the field in nickel and dime in the DB pecking order

What would that prove though? Its not like he gonna forget how to play or lose accuracy. Stats might go from down a lil but he still wont be bad qb. People said that same thing about mahommes when he had tyreke. We we dnt see the crazy numbers anymore but mahommes is still great and winning
The dichotomy between Ravens fans vs Bengals fans certainly is interesting, Lamar is 10-1 against them yet they’re frequently calling Lamar overrated far more than we call Burrow overrated.

I firmly believe having watched nearly every game of both that Lamar is better and does more with less, and Burrow’s clutchness is overrated as compared to Lamar’s. I’m not saying he isn’t good, but if he’s above Lamar on someone’s list that is wrong imo, and I don’t think it’s even close. Burrow is not winning MVP with Seth Roberts as his 2 and rookie Hollywood as his 1

Burrow a cocky bastard but I 100% respect him more than the other guys. Doesn't flop or cry to refs. Keeps his head down and grinds. I still think he gets slightly more credit for that SB run than he deserves. While he wasn't playing the best ball, he also wasn't making back breaking mistakes.

I agree with all of that. I also added a second paragraph responding more to Deebo.

that whole bengals run was overrated lol - they won the division by default after Lamar went down injured in week 14 (ravens were a game up in the division when lamar went down... went from 8-4 to 8-9 to finish the season with 5 straight losses)

they were 1 play away from overtime vs the raiders in round 1
they then got to avoid the bills and chiefs in round 2 and face the titans (who were somehow the 1 seed - was a really weird year that year)

they did play well in the AFC championship and superbowl but the way they got there was so fortunate

right now just eye-balling the roster

the back of the 53 to me looks like

RB4 vs WR6 vs OL11 vs EDGE6 vs LB5 vs DB11 fighting for 2 spots

probably something like Rasheen Ali vs Tez Walker/LeJohntay Wester vs Nick Samac/Garrett Dellinger vs David Ojabo/Adisa Isaac vs udfa LB who does well on special teams vs DB11 (not gonna list all the names because it could be almost anyone in the DB room)

obviously if we sign anymore vets or a udfa starts to pop at a position other than LB then that makes it more competitive

On paper right now, it feels like there are 56 spots for 53 guys. I’m sure there will be an unexpected guy or 2 that starts factoring, but it’s not a super deep roster at this stage.

i've got 57 but im guessing the guy i've got different as being on the bubble is Anthony Miller
hypothetically i could also add the 3 other LBs and make it 60

feels like we could still add a couple of vets before training camp - i'd be looking at DL, LB, maybe S
and obviously there's the clowney of it all if the EDGE group doesn't show up the way we want

Joe Burrow = This Generation's Dan Marino

10 years down the time, they gonna still talk about Burrow's 1 Super Bowl appearance and how he got past Mahomes.

Nobody in nfl history would likely win mvp with hollywood and roberts.. Cam newton kinda did it but thats about it….if borruw is above lamar on someone’s list, i can respect it because its a actually a good argument.

Lamar and Allen both do way more with less. If you had to start a franchise from scratch, I think you are wrong if you don’t choose one of these guys.

Mahomes and Burrow if you have all-pro weapons can amplify their output more than Lamar and Allen can. But this is harder to maintain long-term with the cap situation.

You see KC turn more into a defense first team and have Mahomes protect the ball now to be competitive. While on the flip you see the Bengals miss the playoffs even with a DPOY candidate, OPOY, and Burrow receiving MVP votes.

But I have no sympathy for the Bengals or Burrow. You pitch to the front office that you need 2 all pro wide receivers, you’re now seeing the consequences everywhere else.
