Lmao this is awesome
It is but I saw we haven’t signed Greene yet, but we (and 30/32) teams can thank Houston for that.I'm sure you saw this, @OURavensFan
Nope. He can't until he signs. So did Mike Green report today?
Crazy, i didnt even know he hasnt signed wtf. I wonder whats the deal with thatNope. He can't until he signs.
the issue is that 2 already got the guarantees
now it's about precedent

Yea ive seen those but i didnt know mike green was holding out..i knew about stewart and thats about it.. didnt know it was majority of the 2nd rnd picks. shit i dnt even know if we signed starks yet lol..Bro, that’s what the conversation has been about the last few pages lol
Texans and Browns gave their 2nd round picks (picks 33 and 34 I believe) fully guaranteed contracts (not normal for 2nd rounders) so now all of the 2nd round picks are holding out and requesting the same thing.
Starks did.Yea ive seen those but i didnt know mike green was holding out..i knew about stewart and thats about it.. didnt know it was majority of the 2nd rnd picks. shit i dnt even know if we signed starks yet lol..
When has a non ball hawk safety ever been the best safety in the nfl? Could troy but he was never better than reed
Green doesn't want to be the one who caves and lets everyone else down and the senior players are probably backing him in that. The NFL comparatively screws over their players compared to other sports and rookies are the ones who get screwed the most.Starks did.
This shit with 2nd rounders is stupid. I am all for guys getting a bag but they have no justification asking for full guarantees.
Mike Green in particular. Half the league didn't even want to draft him.
Well and the irony is its the players own union who was the one's who pushed to restrict rookie contracts. The owners were largely totally fine with letting the market dictate values for rookies.Green doesn't want to be the one who caves and lets everyone else down and the senior players are probably backing him in that. Rookie contracts are a bargain yetteamscolluding owners don't even want to pay them the full amount. I don't blame Green one bit for holding out.
I think the higher injury risk and shorter career is an argument in favour of the rookies holding out, and fully guaranteed contracts across the sport, as is the fact that the NFL is far richer than any other league.Well and the irony is its the players own union who was the one's who pushed to restrict rookie contracts. The "compared to other leagues" thing really sort of gets defeated when you do actual comparisons of player injuries across sports, as well as roster sizes. The NFL is significantly higher risk of injury with gigantically more mouths to feed.
As far as the whole 2nd round group thing, it'll solve itself. My guess is the NFL teams will largely hold steady and not do anything. Players will cave or come to some sort of modified middle ground. The teams generally aren't going to lose any sleep if they guys don't show up on time, it doesn't cost them anything at the moment, and these guys piss away a shit ton of leverage if they actually decide to not sign and sit out the year.
If people think NFL owners are vindictive and collude now... wait until you see what happens when a handful of guys refuse to sign rookie deals and head back into the draft next year. A year older, a year away from football, having pissed off a large chunk of the people who control their monetary futures. Shedeur Sanders "plummet" will seem like he went top 10.
Browns and Texans apparently aren't in the owners group chat

From a players perspective, sure it is. From a Owners perspective, a) individual players don't matter, b) they assume more risk with fully gtd contracts, and c) the NFLPA lobbied for the existing rookie system, so it's their mess to clean up.I think the higher injury risk and shorter career is an argument in favour of the rookies holding out, and fully guaranteed contracts across the sport, as is the fact that the NFL is far richer than any other league.
There probably will be some sort of compromise but the NFL owners colluding wouldn't be a great look at the moment. Doesn't mean they won't do it. They don't care how look to us and the union is a disaster at the moment.
Though the current state of the NFLPA will probably eventually lead to some house cleaning and new, more militant leadership (or a breakway union) and we will see a bit of a standoff over fully guaranteed contracts at some point over the next few years.
Correct. It's the agents.also the NFLPA is currently embroiled in its own scandal over the current makeup of the leadership (and how Lloyd Howell even got the job in the first place)
i doubt they're putting many efforts into making this happen for 2nd round picks... i reckon it's mostly just agents on this issue
Even just agents pushing their players to stand together still might give the rest of the NFL an example of the value of solidarity which could indirectly help with future negotiations.also the NFLPA is currently embroiled in its own scandal over the current makeup of the leadership (and how Lloyd Howell even got the job in the first place)
