Trump feels that these guys are sons of whores who should be banned by the NFL.

Not sure what makes you think that he is that guy that is going to listen to them and find a solution.
Dude cant even figure what the actual issue and why they are kneeling....

Im not even from the US and even i know that players have been meeting with Police Chiefs/Commissioners and such to discuss these things.

Its not the players job the find a solution cause they simply dont have the power to do so.
All they can do is raise awareness so that those that actually have the power can come up with a solution.

To bad those people and their followers (such as you) care more about WHAT they are doing rather then care about WHY they are doing it.....

Why do you feel he called them sons of a bitches. Cuz he's racist??Trump from the moment he announced he was running for president has been extremely pro military and has been adamant about respecting the flag. Does it ever enter anybodys mind that he just called them that cuz they were kneeling? Of course not.

Know anything about our cities Tru? All run by democrats but yet the people that cry about police brutality and poverty just keep voting the same people and their principles in constantly. Would you allow yourself to be kicked in the nuts over and over again? Excesiive rules and regulations and high taxes and that's just part of it. Yet the only problem is police brutality? Are these not high crime, dangerous areas? I guess cops shouldn't worry. Its just innocent little lambs they have to deal with.

Right now black unemployment is at the lowest level since WW2 and there is also 6.6 mil unfilled jobs. And for any smartasses that want to say it started under Obama (not you Tru) the last 6 yrs it was republican house and the last 4 yrs it was republican senate (check the unemployment rate the 1st couple yrs lol). Also the last 4 yrs of Bush era it was democrat house and senate. Just to get that straight. Getting ready to have a quarter of 4.8 GDP growth. Now where is the high black American high unemployment? Take a guess.

Now with this ridiculous racism shit. Who keeps crying about it? Why the liberal left of course. Always stirring the pot. I mean if a black man ever agrees with Trump he's just gonna get completely condemned. Look at Steve Harvey. He went thru complete hell just cuz he had a conversation with Trump about ways to help urban areas. Or how bout Kanye West. Now a lot of hip hop stations wont even play his music. The players should have went and unlike what you think Trump would listen. He might not agree but he would've listened and there could have been good discussion. Also a major problem is Jeffrey Lurie who is extremely left in his beliefs. Probally moreso than any other owner.

You get a chance watch the mayor of Philly dancing with an assistant over their city remaining a sanctuary city and that should show you who's leading these high poverty/high crime areas that result in "police brutality".

I'm not going too far into all this because as with immigration and gun control it's not the lane I get too interested in arguing about (short answer on my take: the players can do what they want if they're not hurting anyone, forced patriotism should never sit right with anyone, and the "they should use a different" venue argument misses the point in many ways) but I thought I'd pay a bit of attention to this paragraph.

You can't just cherry-pick the data you like because growth trends take time, and you're implying the Democrat-controlled congress caused the GFC and the resulting recession, which is outright false. There's a ton of literature out there about the kinds of moral hazard that was going on in the financial sector at that point (for a TL;DR version of that just watch The Big Short) and it would have happened no matter who the president was, though if you had to point the finger at one particular politician/group of politicians the Bush-era deregulations would be a place to start (but again it takes years for a bubble like that to burst). When recessions happen companies lay off workers, which leads to less spending and less corporate revenue and more cutbacks (ie, more job losses) in a self-perpetuating spiral. It takes a few years to fully play out because of recognition lags, decision lags and implementation lags among other things. When a government carries out a fiscal stimulus (like the auto bailout) it usually takes at least two years for the multiplier to fully play out for the same reasons (usually every dollar in government expenditure leads to two dollars in future GDP growth but it doesn't happen overnight). That's a long paragraph but it's a pet peeve of mine when people look at a trend and assume it started the day someone took office when the reality is that macroeconomic trends are way bigger and more complicated than that.

I'm not sure where you're getting 4.8% quarterly growth from but I'd be willing to bet $100 that doesn't happen (seriously, I'll send you my PayPal details if you want to take that up). Not even China at its peak - the fastest-growing economy in human history - managed that. An annualised rate of 4.8% also hasn't been seen since (ironically enough) the Clinton years. The closest I could find was some blog citing an obscure metric supposedly used by the Atlanta Fed that only factors in two components of GDP. I also see Trump hasn't been bragging about the stock market for a while. The stock market's a terrible indicator of economic health and a given president or congress has little to do with either but I just thought I'd point out that he's been taking credit for it while it's good and then gone radio silent when the trend shifts to volatility.

The other thing is that Trump did have a point when he said during the campaign that the unemployment rate was fake news. Albeit the implications of "fake news" were well off base, and more that unemployment is a very blunt metric that can miss a lot of nuanced points. He said on the campaign trail that the true unemployment figure was 22, 25, 28 or even 48 per cent (as opposed to the ~4% it was at the time he said it) and that's where he had a point. It doesn't factor in people who've given up on looking for work and dropped out of the market entirely or the number of people who aren't happy with the category of work they're in (casuals who'd rather be full-time, etc), and that's where more nuanced metrics do a better job. The labour market participation rate of men aged 25-54 is actually about 12% - the lowest it's been since the Great Depression - and the labour force participation rate has been trending downward since 2008 and stayed flat for the past five years or so. Trump's changed his tune about what he thinks of the official unemployment figure but basically every economic trend (good and bad) going on atm has been the same as it was during the recovery.

I know that has nothing to do with athletes kneeling for the flag and justice reforms, but any time anyone brings up economic data I tend to raise an eyebrow one way or another. Discussing solutions to the world's economic woes is another topic I'm fascinated by (I meant to bring up California trialing a UBI system a few weeks ago), but that takes a more nuanced approach than sticking to partisan radio headlines and soundbites and my demand for that tends to exceed the supply (lol).

If Trump was willing to listen he would have reached out and asked why they where kneeling before calling them sons of bitches.
The fact that he called them son of bitches first closed any chance on having a mature good discussion.
When was the last time you had a good discussion with someone who called you a son of a bitch and meant every wordt of it?

You know the namecalling is not a 1 way street. Funny Trump and Kim Jong Un are trying to work it out.

@Inqui you are right about the Atlanta fed so no bet lol since I'm not sure actually how those figgers pertain but the economy over here.

Given the possible other option what choice do Trump and Kim Jong Un have other then talking it out?

Also are you seriously trying to compare that to the situation between the players and Trump.

BTW what is really funny is that 2 situation who have absolute nothing to do with each still share 1 common factor.....

Think Trump has some more important things to worry about than if a bunch of athletes want to visit him at the White House or not

Trump doesn't have to talk to N Korea.

As to the "situation" yes I find it very comparable. Sometimes you gotta grow up and take some criticism. Trump gets criticized and name called every damn day (as does his family) but yet he was still going to host the players at the WH for a celebratory event. They should have went but instead they chose to go crawl back in their shells and shout thru the media.

some of the eagles players were going to go though - when trump found out that it would be a reduced contingent it was the white house that decided to cancel...

Ranting on twitter as the president of the USA is a very grown up thing.....

BTW is the job of the president of the USA to engage in talks with leader of other countries regarding various things...

Also there where players willing to go until he grew a hissy fit and cancelled it....

To compare players peacefully protesting with leaders of nations threathing with war is just.......

Reduced contingent is a major understatement and really what did we learn from the sign video.

Love him or hate him, the biggest strength of Trump is his Negotiation skills. The fact he was able to negotiate denuclearization during this summit was just incredible. I think most presidents/leaders should work together more to create a better WORLD for everyone. Yes, you want to make your country better but if you can work together and make the world better, then that should always be priority number one.

The deal was basically just agreeing to keep talking with Kim (the only tangible things agreed to were sending back remains of Korean War veterans
in return for stopping joint exercises with South Korea and calling them "war games" instead of "joint military exercises"), same as these recent trade deals with the EU and Mexico. They haven't done much more than agree to talk about working toward some sort of bigger agreement.

Also, in non-US things and I don't expect this to generate much discussion but if anyone wants a masterclass in why you keep the central bank independent take a look at what's going on in Turkey. The lira getting weaker (which it's been doing for years but even faster now) and the US dollar getting stronger (more recently) has made dollar-based debt way more expensive (ie, it takes more lira to pay off the same amount of US dollars and a lot of institutions in Turkey have their debt in US dollars) and this is looking like it's going to become a full-on crisis.

The easy solution is to get the central bank to start raising interest rates (so people have more of a reason to put their money into Turkey, which would help strengthen the lira again) but their President maintains that doing this is part of an anti-Turkey agenda from globalist elites and their recent referendum gave him more power to affect the central bank. As a result, interest rates are staying low and no one wants to touch the Turkish economy with a barge pole because the reward isn't worth the risk and this is turning the problem into a vicious cycle (along with stuff like giving the President's son-in-law an important government role).

I wouldn't be surprised if the Federal Reserve became a talking point in the US in the next year or two, so I'll go on the record with my opinion now: NO politician should be able to influence the operations of the central bank - that is asking for bad things to happen (Venezuela would be exhibit B, albeit on the extreme end).

What did he say or do this time?
Just another one of those 3 anti trump one pro trump discussions

Appearantly some book came out saying that Trump insulted sessions and kelly and the like and the guy was trying to explain why he thought it was crap, as usual though the other 3 just kept shouting him down while Don kept trying to say he wasn’t acting biased.

So the pro trump guy said that of course he was biased and so was don but Lemon just kept denying it, it was infuriating to watch
