The Defense, the Offense, and the Crabtree....

It’s funny you make that point. I would be more worried if we lost by touchdowns than a FG in OT. We didn’t just give up because that would’ve been the Ravens of the past couple years. Fold up the lawn chairs defense. We kept clawing away to win but the fact is the Cleveland defense played amazing. They were very good especially Ward. They had a great game plan for us and Marty just didn’t do well. This was a bad game for our offense. I think our defense did very well despite missing Williams. If we had Tim we may have won because of many chances for a safety that didn’t make it. I just think very highly of what I saw from their defense today.

Yeah, their defense is terrifying. Garrett is playing well and commanded a lot of double teams and scheming. They also kept batting our passes. That was really messing with us.
I keep saying that D is good since last year and they improved, too. But it's not a D that you can't score on. Not a single damn point!

Sadly, this is the same old stuff from Harbaugh since the Super Bowl win. A new OC who can take advantage of the weapons we got is needed but maybe a offensive minded HC is the answer. Who's the next Sean McVay?

Did we draft any TEs this year, because we certainly didn’t utilize them well today

I wanted Harbs fired so bad in favor of hiring McVay

I agree. Use more TE and in fact I would do more long balls to the TE. Do some double or triple TE sets with Hurst and Andrews and Brown for the deep ball. Also, throw long more on 1st down. I felt that was stupid. Defense was stacking early expecting us to run
I like brown on an island, maxx or Boyle inline, Andrews and hurst bunched with maxx. Use maxx or Boyle for protection, use another if needed, slip the inline out when you can, open it up with hurst downfield and then Andrews underneath, heavy blitzing defense and you don’t use your best weapons who counter blitzes perfectly. Like a blitzing defenses worst enemies are a good screen offense and excellent well rounded TEs and instead we attack their very good secondary and don’t capitalize against the blitz.

Fucking mind boggling

We use Nick Boyle red zone/GL play as a pass catcher. We have 3 better active TE's to throw to. another questionable call
If Biscotti fires Harbs I'd call DeFilippo and Mike McDaniel as a HC/OC combination

I think it’s a combo of bad offensive play calling, the offense just shitting the bed, and the Browns just playing well.

Can anyone explain to me why we get our first round TE back and then we stop using TEs which has been what drives this offense?

Throwing to the TE and multi TE sets has worked for a month straight now, max protect and chips and dump offs with brown the constant threat, when Brown is covered the TEs and buck Allen make plays on the checkdown/2nd read, use The TEs and Snead interchangeably to set picks on crossing routes, it has WORKED BRILLIANTLY and then all of a sudden we scrap the entire basis of our offense.

Take what’s working, and stop doing it... it’s so crazy it might just work, but it doesn’t, ever.
It was so frustrating, like a completely different OC was using totally different packages with different personnel. It seemed he was scared to lose. Then it looked like they finally turned the corner on those last drives in regulation, but again went brain dead conservative in OT. Mind boggling.

I agree with this and getting Moore on thr field more often

He has his drops but at least he has deep speed. I think Crabtree is best short for now until he can prove us otherwise.
I agree Moore definitely has more deep speed, and Crabtree was able to make something out of some short possession catches towards the end of regulation. Believe it was thr last drive to get us in fg range

Pretty much this... I am surprised that we totally shit the bed. Flacco was bad today but not atrocious or anything. We keep calling these stretch run plays that don't work(this has been a problem since last season). I expected a close game, and we got that but a lot of things need to be fixed. We should have attacked from the middle-out. That's what has been working.

Yeah, Crabtree may have to go. He was not good today and he’s had issues for weeks now. It’s becoming a problem.
He's bad, but as the saying goes, "beggars can't be choosers." The Ravens history with wrs suggests that they probably won't be able to choose a decent replacement.

There’s definitely an overreaction here. I don’t even have time to prove why but just look at some of the posts man. It’s just one game and we lost 2 of 5. Let’s wait and see what happens at the end of the half season to say we can’t come back from 1-2 in the division. I understand being pissed—I’m pissed—but the Browns have a very strong defense so that’s why we scored 9. That and dropped opportunities, in some cases literally, by the offense.

I wouldn’t call TEN hard nor would I call them easy. I think we can definitely beat them though. I’m not nearly as scared of them as I was the Browns today. They legit concern me but the Titans not as much. I think we’ll beat TEN, not sure I can feel it though (lol).

Yeah, I think we can beat TEN. Our game plan was bad, though, I very much agree
The Browns gave up 45 points against a sorry team like Oakland. There is no excuse for the Raven's offensive "performance."

Even when Baltimore is firing on all cylinders they struggle against Tennessee. Now, we're supposed to believe that a team who lost to the Browns is going to win a road game against an opponent that they usually lose to?
i knew our days of sweeping of the browns were over soon as they drafted baker and denzal. Both looking like offense and defense roy.
I knew it was going get tougher, but man if they can't beat Cincy, can't sweep Pitt and can't beat the Browns, then where does that leave Baltimore?

I guess it will leave them with a whole new regime next year.

It would help with Hurst at LG and Zeus, Jr at RT.

I'd say that special teams have been darn near atrocious. Off the rails pathetic with blown assignments, two blocked field goals, a blocked punt with another block saved by a desperation hold executed by Levine.

Crabtree needs to be benched. His body language (and maybe this is how he's always been) suggests a disinterested observer and the drops, particularly those taking points off the board are unacceptable.

It's two weeks in a row that we have "fumbled" away points at the goal line. The play calling and the reluctance to run the ball inside the five showed no feel for this particular game.

Flacco struggles against disguised coverages from 4-3 teams with athletic linebackers....for years. He processes a click slower...he makes bone headed decisions.

If Tim White is going to be at a loss for how to get upfield and make people miss, he better darn well hold on to the ball.

Tony Jefferson made plays.

I think that’s where we made our worst error. They left the defense open late when they wanted to keep us between the numbers leaving for more opportunityin the middle and we should’ve gone for it deep with the TE like Andrews and split them with Brown also going deep on a decoy so you draw the safety and Ward with Brown and use a CB on Andrews.

You’re missing the fact that this is a divisional game against coaches who know this team well in Saunders and Hue. I think you’ve underscored that quality
