The Good, the Bad, and The Ravens

With what draft capital and what QB is worth having in this class? I mean I like Herbert and Thorson as much as the next guys but you aren't going to develop anyone behind this oline.
It's a win-win to at least see what he has. You save a lot of money if you cut Joe and if he still looks somewhat salvageable, you keep him and just go for oline and a RB and still have a complete team. I think if Flacco finishes the year strong, which he's been prone to doing in December, he's here to stay even with the contract and even if Harbaugh goes down. I don't think Lamar is as ready as Mahomes was, even if I really like the guy and think he's a future franchise QB.

I still think it's too early to say the season is over. The team is wildly inconsitent, but I think if we beat Pittsburgh next week there's a solid chance we make the wild card. Which makes this entire conversation moot.
Jake Fromm isn't draft eligible, is he?

Herbert is the one I'd be interested in most of all, but I'd also have to think about looking at Bridgewater potentially. I'm sure he's going to be looking for a situation for a one year prove it deal. Would he come cheaper than Joe's cap savings? I'm not sure. I don't know, but I do think he has franchise quarterback potential.

But if you were to release Flacco, Jimmy, and Carr, you'd be saving around $25M. Before any rollover, the Ravens have $35M in cap next year (estimated value). Let's say they roll over $5M; that puts the Ravens at $65M with those releases (although, $35M in money might be a reason the Ravens DON'T release those players; the Ravens aren't hurting for cap.) That's enough money for a new coach to go out and get his guys and start building his foundation.

So Kenny Young and who on the inside?
You have options in draft or FA. It's better then paying him to be something that he simply won't be for this team. It's deals like that which are hurting this team. I'd rather have Kenny Young and Peanut on the inside and add an elite OG or game changing WR in the proccess.

I know what Mosley is, he's a top 5 ILB and a very good player, but you get what you get at this point with him. He has issues with durability and he's going to be a problem in man coverage. It's too constant at this point for someone looking to get paid on a level that he's not at.

We literally drafted a QB in the 1st round this year and he hasn’t done anything to show us he’s NOT the guy, so why are you even thinking about drafting a QB.

And Fromm is overrated. Don’t want him.

We could definitely trade Joe rather then cut him. He would present a massive upgrade over a Case Keenum or Blake Bortles and I feel like both of those teams would look towards making a move for him.

I disagree with Fromm being overrated, but it's the idea that new coaches generally want "their guy." But others are right- the Ravens would find someone who wants to coach Jackson, not someone who wants "their guy."

I'm still shocked that the Jaguars haven't actually gotten a new quarterback, but their cap situation next year is pretty atrocious. I'm not sure they could afford Joe. Not sure about Denver.

I don't know how their cap situation looks but both of those teams would kill to have Joe. I personally just don't see us good enough to have Joe as our QB right now but if you're a team that's a QB away then you could strike gold with Flacco. I think they would make room to get him. Tampa Bay is another team who would go hard for him.

Sheesh. Glad I didn’t watch this one. Went outside and enjoyed the nice weather. My day would’ve been ruined had I watched lol
Brother, this is the one game I decided to go out with the wife and watch the game. I wanted to leave after the first half and enjoy the rest of my day, but of course she wanted to stay and watch her Steelers win against the Browns, so I had to suffer through it. Boy was I ever salty!!!!! I refuse to go out anymore if the weather is decent. I am not putting myself through that again.

Well by bold prediction of Jackson throwing his 1st TD pass was on target but I didn’t envision it coming in garbage time.

Oh man I feel for you...for once I’m glad I missed a game

That's my thing, if we're rebuilding then you go with Lamar, but if you want to compete then you stick with Joe. It's 10M in cap space you gain if you trade/cut Joe so you might just stick it with him. I wouldn't rush it if I'm trying to compete.
Doesn't compute. We're trying that for years now. Enough.
Build some speed into the offense, hire a coach like DeFilippo and let Lamar show what he can do for couple / three years.

Well when you miss the post-season for 5 out of the last 6 seasons then people's jobs will be on the line. A guy like Harbaugh or anyone for that matter doesn't have the luxury that Lamar has. If we hire a new HC then that's fine, we'll probably go that route.

What I’m pissed about is that I have to wait another entire freakin year to hope we can have some resemblance of a good team. I waited a freaking year for this garbage. The offseason is too damn long

I don’t even really care how Flacco is playing honestly. Sometimes it’s just time to move on. He has been pretty good overall this season but an average team won’t cut it. Time to change things up.

Missed the game. How did Joe play, what happened on the interceptions?

I am hot and cold on Joe, but regardless of whether Joe can ever put it together again, I don’t think Lamar is a franchise quarterback who can get you very far.

This team has more talent than we had the last several seasons we barely missed the playoffs. The problem is we keep making the same mistakes .
Harbaugh is primarily to blame and will not last another year without a playoff berth.
