Next Up: Vs. Steelers

i was willing to give this team the benefit of the doubt but my confidence was already on tenterhooks

i have no trust left in this team week to week - we can absolutely destroy a team in any given week but we also just dont turn up to too many games - we're not a good road team for whatever reason

mediocre teams dont beat teams the way we do and yet we are the definition of average at .500

all of our wins have been absolute routs
and so have half of our losses

I'm willing to give OJ the benefit of the doubt if the find a lifeless Vanna White in his trunk before this team.

And this is what I meant. We tried that shit too much in 2012 during the regular season and it didn't do our defense, which was completely suspect at the time, any favors. Now the team's awareness needs to improve because there has been a number of times where we catch the defense off guard and gain chunks of yards, but we don't because we're the Ravens and we like to make things difficult.
Agreed, I think this defense needs to be kept off the field as much as possible but uptempo would help the offense a bit.

Perhaps that is the plan because I feel like he’s getting more opportunities. Anyone know if his snap counts and targets have increased? When it comes to being a deep threat you first have to prove it before teams respect you and I recall telling people when we drafted Perriman to hold up because no team will care to stop him until he proves he needs their game plan to stop him. Not saying you’re saying this, just saying Brown has shown that so teams are shifting coverage his way now we must show we can beat you deep with others to make them respect us
Tony Lombardi who was at the game said Joe missed him wide open for an easy TD. That’s a problem because the other two, Crabtree and Snead as well as our TEs need to beat 1v1 coverage consistently in order to get coverage off of Brown. It would help if we had a run game but I’m accepting it for what it is at this point.

Sure, of course Ozzie has a say in the draft, but the point that I'm making is it seems like the reigns have grown looser and looser for DeCosta and he's had more and more input in running the draft.

As for the rest, it doesn't matter if you like a guy or not if you don't pick them. The Ravens can like Deion Jones or Michael Thomas all they want, but they had opportunities to pick both and failed to do so.
Yeah they passed on Thomas and Jones but that’s the point, I don’t think the problem is our scouting, I think we’re flat out picking the wrong guys. We had our eyes on two really good player just mad a really bad decision in the end.

I think DeCosta has plenty of input and there is accountability there but I’m still interested to see how things turn out when he has the Final say.

I actually think this is the biggest game we’ve played in the last 5 years. A loss means our season is actually over, with only a very small shot at a wild card. A loss here means harbs is out. I can’t think of a game this crucial since 2012.
Those playoff games in the 2014 season were pretty big too. With a halfway decent secondary we could be talking about two time SB winner Harbaugh.

Not on field: LG Alex Lewis (neck), RT James Hurst (back), LT Ronnie Stanley (foot/ankle), G/C Bradley Bozeman (calf), OLB Tim Williams (foot/ankle), MLB C.J. Mosley (undisclosed), CB Brandon Carr (knee), CB Marlon Humphrey (thigh) and S Tony Jefferson (undisclosed)

that's 3 starting OL, 3 starting DBs, CJ, the backup OL for if any of those starting OL cant go and Timmy

that's a bad looking participation report
Cue the injury excuses ... not that Harbaugh will say it, but anyone wishing to defend him will. They got into this pickle without injuries, so I don't want to hear it from anyone.

When it comes to next man up - we're one of the worst teams in the league at making that work. Humphrey - 1 guy - is out last week and that's why our secondary got shredded. Last year Smith goes out and same thing.

Cmon man.

Looks like Lewis is coming back. He's been a liability but is the best LG on this team. Hurst not coming back is fine, Brown Jr. has been a good starter thus far... So you're telling me Jermaine is going to be starting at LT in all likelihood. Yup. We're fucked.

If jermaine is starting at LT just go ahead and put Maxx and Boyle on both of his hips the whole game.

We're going to have to have Maxx beside him and Ricard behind him to stop people on that side.

With Tim Williams out we need Bowser to play well because we need speed against Villanueva. This is a game where Bowser needs to show up and show why he’s a 2nd round pick. Ice up, son.

And Stanley and Hurst being out sucks mainly due to Stanley as I hate the matchup of Dupree going against whoever is there. He’s a speed rusher and not sure we have someone who can match his speed. He’s underwhelmed before so here’s hoping but Sean Davis can be devastating. That’s another UMD one I feel that got away. I don’t mind Brown at RT but the LT is the issue as we all know. Curious if we go with Eluemenor or if we go with Lewis and put Bozeman at LG. I guess we’ll see

But that's the thing- we don't actually know that the Ravens did like Thomas or Jones a lot. They could have come in for a visit and the Ravens could have been like, "Yeah, not our guys. We'll pass." We have no idea.

But it is a massive failure on the scouting department to continue to take guys like Art Brown over Keenan Allen or Correa over Thomas, Jack, Jones, etc.

A lot of people liked Brown myself included. I also loved Allen and took him myself that year with Frederick. Sadly Brown never panned our like he should I guess he’s just dumb. That said, I wonder why we passed on those guys

If Lewis is able to play wouldn’t he be a better play at LT than Jermaine??

I liked Brown, too, but I was livid they passed on Allen.

yeah exactly surely its a better OL if we have Lewis at LT, shift Bozeman into LG rather than have Eluemunor come in at tackle...
Quiet now. The wrath of Harbaugh will turn your precious England into a city. Don't insult his master plan, and especially his new prodigal son in Jermaine.

Bowser for Timmy - ehhhh.. Not holding my breath he can rush on Steelers O line.

As far as LT goes, they'd be crazy to put there any other guy than Brown Jr.
