Way-Too-Early Prospect Watch: 2019

Imagine the ravens drafting P.Campell or Hollywood Brown. We're all hyped, but as soon as they're in the castle they can't catch anymore.
Ozzie was among the gms at that WVU-OU game so who knows

If we lose Brown this offseason i really want Hollywood Brown or Deebo Samuel in the draft.

I always prefer the smaller quicker route running type WR overall.. but if I factor lamar jackson into the equation, I think I'll lean more to the big body / catch radius WR. Unless Lamar fixes his accuracy problem, give me someone like DK metcalf, harry, or AJ brown

I find it so weird that Alabama has this tough and physical identity, yet always has WRs who are speedy finesse route runners. I’m waiting for Alabama to have a top recruit who’s like 6’3” + and big and physical as hell
They're smart, WRs who get open are much more useful

A safety I really like that we could potentially get in the third is Taylor Rapp, from Washington. He's solid all over the field and really attacks the ball when it's in the air. He seems like the type that doesn't just leave plays on the field. I think he has the potential to be a day one starter if asked to be.

Totally forgot about this kid! Remember watching UW when he was a freshman and the announcers were talking about how everyone on the team was talking about this kid as a future star. I was thinking about him before the season started but i was thinking he was a sophomore. I see hes a junior now lol

Still....my top safety prospect (for our defense) is Lukas Denis. Kid can play all over the feild, single high and in the box. Hes the perfect prospect to learn from weddle.

I think he’s More of a SS safety though. And we already have 4 of those. (Weddle, jeffy, Elliot, Levine).

He actually lines up all over the field. In the box, on the slot, and single high. His freshman year he primarily played as a deep safety and got four INTs that year.

well there! still looking forward to hear your opinion on Ferrell guys :D
I know it´s still high season so we´ll more likely entering the discussion in a few months but I just can´t wait..
I finished to save the material about Zach Allen and he´s confirmed to be in my presents list, barring further draft crushes.

The class has an amazing day 2 depth at the position and I can see us trading back again trying to fill as many needs as possible.
Of all those guys though, Allen is the most ´tweener´ of them all. While not particularly flashy, his low, thick base, and great punch make him extremely versatile and one of the most appetizing prospects for a team in look for an identity.
Can line up everywhere on the line, even at 0 t, even though he looks the best as a 5t hands to the ground DE.

I strongly suggest you all to watch there tapes yourself because the quality of these gifs is drastically diminishing the making of some plays

One thing that will pop out of any tape is definitely his bullrush, which he almost abuses of, as a proof of his core and punch strength.
I found myself almost laughing at some plays, as the Olineman in front of him looked as stroke by a thunder or sth
(here he´s not even really trying yet, he just pinky-finger touches the RT and that one drops a few yards back)

here again keeps throwing the poor guy around for one more pressure under 3 seconds of the snap

vs ND, not really a sorry ass Olinemen factory
giphy.gif

Here he´s lining up in front of the Center. He´s the first to jump off the snap and the triple team saves the guy from becoming a ragdoll
giphy.gif

Now, many people will say he´s sort of abusing of that move, that it won´t work at the pro level and ja ja ja.. but you can´t avoid to see those small things that make him more than just a mere strong albeit limited prospect.
For instance, he´ll execute his rush without ever being a cowboy, giving up a lane.
And the reason is that his hips are great and he has great feeling for the position. He´ll never overcommitt to the outside and will use his wide hips and strong base to keep chunking yards toward the QB, either with his favourite bull rush or a rip outside
giphy.gif

Here´s another showing of diversity: two swim move to win inside against the Gs

These things scream me two things to me: consistency and high floor.

My personal, ideal development of Allen, as a Ravens fan, would be a slightly lighter version of the player he is now in order to optimize the good burst he already occasionally shows off the snap.
I think he would benefit from it as he´d gain that lateral agility he´s now lacking to disorient Olinemen and quickly change direction.
while the low, strong base should´t be particularly effected.

After all medias will bash you for being "one dimentional" (look at our Jackson himself) while scouts and teams will take the intangibles they like and try to develop something already solid into something even better.
I´ll say top 15.

I’ve been saying it’s a terrible qb class since last yr. Definitely puts teams in need of a qb behind the eightball. I’m looking at you Giants. As good as Barkley is, picking a top qb in the 2018 draft would have been the better way to go.
It would be great if we could trade Joe to the Giants for a 2nd and swap a pick for another pick. Imagine if we traded Joe and our 3rd for their 2nd and 3rd? That would be amazing. Feels like a dream lol

Parris Campbell is having an great game today vs Michigan

Ohio State has the most points scored against Michigan.
Campbell has been my guy from jump this year at WR. He’s my top guy because I just like the way he plays football. He can just somehow get YAC like crazy from what I’ve seen. I haven’t liked a WR as much since Beckham JR.
