2019 WR Thread

I don't think Harry gives us anything that we don't already have in our offense. He's going to be a zone beater that gets yards after the catch and largely do underneath or comeback routes. We have that in Snead, Andrews, and Hurst. Samuel and Marquise Brown would actually bring something different that our offense doesn't have right now. Even Metcalf or Butler would at least give us a proper deep threat on the perimeter.

If the Ravens were going to grab the sure handed, fight for the ball type I'd rather we do that later in the draft.

I feel like no. Hes always lined up in the slot. Ole Miss offense was really bland. I feel like they had 10 plays in total that they ran every game
He lined up outside on occasion when D.K. was injured. AJ Will probably be a very good big slot receiver in the NFL and will be high volume from the slot, with a little outside work.

He can handle man on man and deep routes. He's real good on 12-15 yd ins.

Oh you said projection, I thought you were saying you don’t think he’s ever gonna be able to beat press, oddly worded lol
Yeah sorry, I meant to say I know he can already win against press right now. That's why I said it's no projection to me.

I don’t get the marquise brown fit for us. I’ve been seeing him mocked to us a lot lately. John brown was our best WR last season and he was pretty much a non factor when Lamar took over. Like 8 catches in the 7 games lamar started. They’re pretty much the same type of WR.
AJ brown or Harry will be the better fit for our RPO offense. AJ on them slants would be deadly.
Either that or Hakeem for that matchup nightmare. You Gon stick 8 in the box and leave Hakeem 1on1? Or double Hakeem and let lamar run on you.

i just dont agree on that at all - brown isnt just a John Brown-lite type player
and i think its important to remember that chemistry takes longer to build, the longer the average depth of target because the timing has to be better than on shorter routes in general which i think has more to do with brown's production falling off (that and the fact that he started getting a case of the dropsies even when he did get catchable balls)

marquise brown is a guy who creates space at all 3 levels and is a big-play-maker at all 3 levels - the increased space creates bigger windows for lamar to throw to (if you're worried about accuracy) and adds a playmaking threat to our offence - at the moment no defence is worried about us taking them to the house apart from the potential occasional mark andrews big play... we need someone to threaten those big plays at a position (be it tight end, wr, or rb) - we cant just have lamar as the only threat to punish a defence

in terms of a comp id say marquise brown is much closer to desean jackson/tyreek hill than john brown

It doesn't matter which WR we draft if we field a RPO offense. Gimmick offenses don't work in the NFL. If that's really the result they come up with after spending the entire offseason in the "lab" then we'll be f...

Whats your best 1st round/mid round wide receiver pairing?

marquise brown and maybe antoine wesley... (depends on your definition of mid rounds)

the only other receiver id take in round 1 (probably not even at 22) is deebo samuel so id pair him with maybe keelan doss... (not sure where he ends up going tbh)

we werent even running an RPO offence by the end of lamar jackson's regular season let alone running it in his 2nd season

I know we didn't. I just replied to his statement. I just hate when people say we ran/run a rpo offense.

I would say Hollywood and JJ arcega whiteside. Or Hakeem Butler and Mecole Hardman.

Theres a lot of combinations but those would be my favorite for us
