Lamar Jackson

What gets me is how anyone can watch a ravens game, or better yet, any one of the dozens of Lamar highlight videos on YouTube, and come away thinking, “wow, that Greg Roman is the ultimate genius and engine of Ravens success” after witnessing Lamar repeatedly pull a rabbit out of his ass with unparalleled talent and ability on big play after big play.
I totally agree with you. But you got to hand it to Roman though because he very carefully doesn't deny that his offense has a lot to do with Lamar's success. He's doing a masterful job of walking that thin line of self promotion and praising the reason for his success Lamar Jackson.

Ohhhhhhh don't tell me this is true. Say it ain't so.......

So that is the Karen Price that hates people giving Christmas presents. Instead she wants all Christmas gifts to go to charity. Go away Karen.

My guess is that Roman will try to parlay this season into a raise. He may flirt with other jobs but he knows Lamar is a meal ticket. I can see him getting offered the job someplace like Carolina and they draft Hurts to try to duplicate the Ravens success. All will be terribly disappointed in the end, but the

If Roman is a smart man and I think he is, he won't take up any HC position without good thought. Like you said, he knows very well that without Lamar Jackson his offense will look like the one Tryrod ran in Buffalo.

GRo to the panthers is the most logical destination. You have a top 3 back in CMC. If they bring back cam newton, I can see it working out for them.

which tbf was the best running game in the league but was not anything close to this - nothing's ever been like this
you know that if roman is erring, bisciotti will happily pay him more - we made him associate head coach last year in order to keep him as the TE coach (and then promoted him to OC this year) - we only have david culley as assistant head coach along with being the wr coach and passing game coordinator this year (possibly why he's getting some buzz as a potential coordinator candidate elsewhere)

if he wants to go and be a HC, he'll go - there's only 32 of those jobs on the planet and he's never done it before but it really depends on what he wants to do - he's creating history here but he may want to carve his own path out as a head coach and i cant really blame him

its a different situation to wink who i think is clearly happy in the role he's in and loves the players here too - and as he said himself - it would take a dream opportunity for him to leave - and im not sure how other teams owners and gms will take to wink the character as a head coach rather than a coordinator type

It would be stupid to blame any coach / coordinator for leaving to take up a HC job.
Unless he proclaims couple months prior "I'm not going anywhere, we're building something special here".

Unfortunately Cam Newton is no Lamar Jackson and he won't be able to run the option play as effectively. CMC is a stud that may be very successful in Roman's scheme but I'm not sure about Newton. He is more of a bull rushing runner that has a propensity for injury running the ball. But, I can see your point though because of all the current openings that seems like the best fit.

K****k said that a few days before...
Regardless, why you think I censor that traitor's name? Prior to this season, I don't think I've ever felt as optimistic about our offense since the aftermath of the 2014 offense.

Yeah, you certainly couldn’t blame Roman for leaving for a job promotion. But as @Ellicottraven said he should make sure he gets the right job.

As for Wink I think he understands the “Peter principle” where many times coordinators get promoted to a level (HC job) of incompetence. There are many examples past and present of this, and in many cases it’s all about taking the wrong HC job. Hopefully Roman understands that and doesn’t just go for the first job offer, but rather one where he has a QB who fits what he does, and an organization who will be on the same page.

I’m noticing a trend with Clemson fans stalking Lamar media. they seem butthurt over his success. Came across an ESPN interview of Mandrews this morning where they discuss Lamar and one of the five comments is asking why they aren’t talking about “Trevor Lawrence, the Michael Jordan of college football”. This is in an NFL segment where they’re discussing super bowl runs, contract extensions, player improvement and other big boy subjects. Certainly not the first time I’ve seen it either.

In all sincerity there is only one NFL player that will reach the stratosphere MJ resides in and that is Lamar Jackson. When you look at all the tangibles and intangibles outside of sheer arrogance, LJ is a clone of MJ. These dudes come along once in a lifetime. So sorry Clemson fans your dude maybe turns into a Russel Westbrook but Michael Jordan, that slot is taken by Lamar Jackson.

it's bizarre - i was not particularly impressed with trevor lawrence yesterday either - not sure he was the best qb on the field

these people need to get over it. Trevor Lawrence will have a day....

Neither was I. In fact, multiple times I was saying "He isn't gonna last in the NFL if he keeps taking hits like that." I hope Clemson fans have the energy for him like they possibly do with LJ.

Clemson fans feelin a little cocky this morning. Lol. We’ll see how they feel after the LSU game.

Also, the MJ comparison to anyone alive right now is not legitimate. Even Lamar. IMO. He hasn’t won a playoff game yet. Still got a ways to go before he should be compared.

Thank goodness you made it your opinion only. I beg to disagree. I am old enough now to have seen MJ's evolution as a BB player from the time he was in UNC to the Bulls to the Wizards and I've had the good fortune to see him live. Nobody in the sports world short of maybe Tiger Woods captured my imagination like MJ did. He was electric, charismatic but most importantly a winner and other worldly talent. Nobody could do what MJ could.

Fast forward past the Kobe and LeBron eras (no they couldn't touch MJ) to the Lamar Jackson era. I promise you this kid elicits the same kind of reaction and awe that MJ did at least for me. His talents were other worldly and beyond anything seen before. Check. He was a winner. Check. His charisma and watchability were off the charts. Check. The only check missing is multiple championships and I'm sure he'll check that box too soon enough. So my friend @SaltyDog I beg to differ with a vehemence rarely seen in mankind. LJ is the newest iteration of MJ.
