Next Up: Division Round vs Titans

Needed someplace to go to talk Ravens.

My current thoughts:
+Weather models are looking good. The most recent short-range NAM model has rain no where close at 7pm Saturday. GFS has light rain. I think no rain helps the Ravens.
+Doubting that Ingram plays. Gus is more than capable of handling the ball. But that mesh point drop off is huge between Ingram & Lamar.
+Feeling nervous about this game. But I have faith in Lamar. Never had as much faith in a player before (Maybe Reed - but he couldn't change the outcome like Lamar can).
you had joined back in May when this board opened / took over for BR.com. Were you PuRock on the old forum?

Welcome back, buddy.

Purple Nurple?

Twas me. I enjoyed the free time away from the forums - but missed the old BR forums. I've been hovering around reddit but the Ravens sub-forum is just toxic with young bangwagon fans. I miss talking Ravens with a consistently (semi-sane) bunch of Ravens fans.

and a couple months ago we added @Filmstudy as a partner, as you'll see by his forum on the boards.

Well good to have you back. If you ever played the forum mock, the signup thread will come out next week. We have had a good number of old members find us this season, so it's great to have you all back.

I've been listening to the FilmStudy podcast this season. Good stuff. Ken knows his football. Good partnership.

yes he does and he absolutely knows his stuff. One of our own, Tim also known as @Edgar has been featured on the show as well. He has a youtube channel where he breaks down select plays each week. Does a really good job, you can also see some of his stuff in the Film Breakdown forum.

MARK INGRAMRB, BALTIMORE RAVENS

Ravens OC Greg Roman called Mark Ingram (calf) "day to day."
The Ravens are going to try and keep Ingram's true health status close to the vest this week, so we'll have to wait on official practice reports and the final injury designation before knowing if Ingram will play against the Titans. The only thing we know right now is Ingram was feeling "tightness" at practice earlier in the week. If he can't suit up, Gus Edwards and rookie Justice Hill will be the top backs in this Lamar Jackson-led attack.

promising that we havent elevated anyone to the 53 - and the fact that we just brought andre smith in to replace ehinger and not a rb is really promising - suggests there's a decent chance that ingram is at least active even if he's not 100%

there's still a chance though with perkins having just been added to the PS that we elevate a rb before saturday but who knows

actually when I saw we placed Ehringer on IR I thought the next thing I was going to read was that perkins was elevated to the 53.

im the same with lamar - there's been lots of talk this week about how you shorten the field and give lamar problems and ive never been so confident in a ravens qb's ability to see a pre-snap look, and adjust to the post-snap look and diagnose it so quickly and effectively

the only INT he's thrown since week 5 was on a massively windy day off a deflection (was not a good pass but was unfortunate that it got tipped straight to a defender)

the more i watch this titans defence the less worried i am about them (which ironically is making me more nervous because my brain still cant deal with being heavily favoured in any big game (let alone playoff games)

andre smith's a decent signing this late in the year - i wonder if the hope is he can pick up the playbook and potentially take over as tackle cover so Hurst can remain the 6th OL if we lose someone - but also might just be a vet signing to maintain OL depth... wont be hard for him to be better than ehinger tbh

Every Alabama player is a decent signing.

i don't trust justice hill to be the 2ndback because of his lack of running vision and inability to break tacklers.

prove me wrong

i do trust Gus though. Gus is a worthy starter on most teams.

i expect Yanda to have a game for the ages. He's fresh, he's angry and i have a feeling whoever lines up against him is in big, big, trouble.

justice showed some nice things against the steelers with the increased volume - would be nice if he continued to develop and improve - but if ingram's out, hill will see more time in the passing game and especially in 2 minutes he can be lethal in space - we lose something in pass pro on 3rd down with ingram out but hill's speed is a weapon if we can get him the ball in space

with gus we lose some 3rd down versatility and we lose some effectiveness at the mesh point but he's been running at a very high level all year - looks better than he did last year and that was pretty good

not sure how the titans will use jurell casey on saturday but daquan jones is their best 2-gapping DL and most likely guy to line up at the nose - especially when we run right you know Yanda's going to absolutely destroy him and then try to get to the 2nd level - it'll be on mekari to then sustain that block

depending on where casey lines up it might on orlando to down block onto him and take him out of the play

jeffery simmons is the big wildcard - really good young player and a 1st round pick for a reason and if he becomes a disruptive force to our OL that would be big for the titans

I'm telling you, I can't take much more of the anticipation. I pretty much can't listen anymore (despite our being heavy favorites) about how Henry is the biggest beast since Beastmode in his prime, how much trouble the Titans are going to give us, about whether Ingram will play, about whether the conditions at game time are going to slow the game down and inhibit scorning, and so on and so on.

I'm feeling like I need to check out until game time, but that's 76 hours from now.

We simply cannot lose this game. It will destroy the value of this historic season. I'm going to be out of my mind for these games.

You know what? I felt the same in the beginning but their (literally everybody in the media) struggle is just stupidly funny.
It doesn't bother me any longer because I know who will have the last laugh.

Just think Pierce and B Will and you'll be allright.
