I think that’s an overblown argument, you don’t have to be short to generate leverage, some guys have that lean and some dont. Deforest Buckner has no problem at all generating leverage, same with Gerald McCoy, ndamakong suh, etc.
And actually, if you are taller, and you do have that lean and balance to keep your pads low, you generate substantially more leverage than a short guy, because you have a lot more push coming from the lower body with each churn of the leg.
brent urban was tall but he also had a problem with standing straight up and exposing his chest to blockers. Kinlaw plays with excellent pad level and should have no problems with leverage, but even better he plays with incredible quickness and uses his length well.
