Hard to say.. we all LoL’d when z Smith for 17mil / year. Now that’s not looking all that bad. All the top pass rushers want to eclipse that 20+mil / year mark. I would be fine with him getting 17-18mil annually. He’s not a 20+ guy though
17-18 means he is 2nd tier pass rusher.. i say give him 12 million a year lol.

When i think about it, maybe we need to resign judon? For a reasonable price though. Even if we let him go we still gonna need 2+ more players that can get after the qb. Im not counting on bowser and then cause they havent showed us anything. A guy we pick up in draft most likely wouldnt be able to be productive as judon was for us. Chris jones will get tagged, just read armstead could get 21 a yr wtf, shaq barret had one good year so idk if he even worth it.. we may have to make a trade imo. Most likely our best bet if FA dont work and we let judon walk

Shaq Barrett didn't start in Denver, but look who he was behind. However whenever he was on the field he produced. He would be totally worth it if TB was stupid enough to let him go, which they won't be. Not a chance Judon gets signed for 12m, he's most likely going to get tagged.

What price would you guys accept paying Judon? The pass rushing market has been ballooned and its gross.
I would try to keep him in the franchise tag range in terms of AAV, so probably would go as high as like $17-18M per year. If he hit $20M, I'd let him walk.

Like I said earlier, ZaDarius Smith got $16.5M twelve months ago, and Judon had a better body of work than him. ZaDarius balled out this year, so that contract looks good now, but the point being he got $16.5M for far less production in my eyes.

BUT... ZaDarius' deal had very little in guaranteed money. Judon will more than double that. I think he'll get $40M+ in guaranteed money from anybody.

First and foremost I want us to sign/draft iDLs who can get after the QB. In my eyes it makes no sense to have iDL (Williams, Wormley etc) taking on double teams so your other guys are free to make a play. Especially nowadays when there aren't as many 7 step drop backs from under center as there used to be and qbs in general get rid of the ball quickly.
As others said before, the aav surely does matter but i want to make sure that there isn't much guaranteed money involved. So we could cut him after 2 years

10-12 million a year tbh.. the top guys up there around the 20s and he is only half of them so yea lol
I think the Ravens have offered him a contract on par with Z Smith, but Judon and his agent may think he deserves more like 20M a year. At that price, I would rather have Clowney tbh. Tag and trade Judon for a 2nd/3rd round pick and move on swiftly.

I don't understand the notion of that - why would teams trade draft capital AND pay enormous contract money for not quite an elite player?

If we can sign him long term for somewhat above the tag yearly average, I'd be all in. If he wants more, forget a franchise tag - look what we can get in FA and draft couple guys.

Not sure if I am a fan of trading Hayden Hurst. I think we would be better off keeping him.
I'm not moving him for a day 3 pick, as some of the "reports" have suggested. If you can get a 2nd rounder for him, I'd definitely consider it.

Depends on the team and their objectives.

For starters, many teams don't value a 2nd or 3rd round pick that highly. If you looked at our history of 2nd round picks, frankly, we should be trading them for established players every single year.

But a team that's built to "win now" and has the cap space can gladly trade draft capital that's probably 50/50 to pan out, and give up a large contract for him.

Honestly, if the Ravens had like $50M in cap space, they'd be in a position to be the kind of team to do that kind of deal. If the Ravens had more money to spend, I guarantee they'd trade a day 2 draft pick and a $20M contract to get a stud player if they really liked them. They'll get 2-3 more years of Lamar on the cheap, meaning the contract of that guy can come off the books at or before you have to break the bank for your QB.

Pretty much the reason why the Chiefs can land Frank Clark to a massive deal, still keep Jones on the franchise tag, and sign Tyreke Hill to a lucrative deal within about a 12 month period.

If we sign judon for 20 mil a year, we all may lose it

He also has 2 yrs of a very affordable rookie contract and if we have an injury to Andrews or Boyle...……..then we could be up shits creek.
Maybe, but I'm also not in the school of thought that he would be even a competent replacement to Andrews. I think you'd shift the volume more towards other receivers, because I don't think he can do a lot of the things Andrews can do.

I agree he's cheap, which is why I wouldn't ship him off for a day 3 pick. But there's no way you're picking up a 5th year option on this guy, meaning he's likely got two years left as a Raven, with very little chance of a long term future here. You can let him walk after that, but if he stays as is, his value may never be higher.

Hey guys, not to be off topic; but I’m not sure where to go.

Anybody know what’s going on with the 2020 Forum Mock?

at the moment no - but the 5th year option right now for a TE is not particularly expensive - if they change how the 5th year option is calculated for Hurst's potential 5th year then we probably dont end up picking it up but if it's on the current terms my guess is itll be about 6m for that 1 year which isnt that bad at all if he plays at a decent level this upcoming year - it would be similar money to boyle but 2 years after boyle signed his deal - the only reason you might not exercise that option is if you want to save that cap space for a mark andrews contract
