You aren't delirious at all, a little hyper maybe but the truth is giving AB a one year veteran minimum incentive laced deal isn't so bad. Just structure the contract in such a way that he could be cut at anytime with no guarantees except what he's earned till then. Watch him through training camp (if there is one) and see how he impacts the locker room chemistry and if he doesn't impact it negatively, then keep him. Because if he has something to prove (which he clearly does), then AB, Hollywood, Boykin, Andrews, Ingram and Snead will be unstoppable period. Absolutely a force to reckon with. Can’t believe I’m saying this but I’d give AB a one year deal. Harbaugh would let it be known that he won’t put up with any BS. AB and Lamar seem to be developing a friendship. Fuck, I don’t know. This is a tough one. He’d be joining a top notch org that doesn’t fuck around and he’d be playing with family, plus I want to surround Lamar with as much talent as humanly possible like the Chiefs did with Patty. Maybe I’m just delirious from lockdown.
Very good points. He’d be watched under a microscope and our locker room, especially with the addition of Calais, is absolutely rock solid. I guess we’ll have to see what happens. It’d be shocking to say the least if he joined the squad, however. You aren't delirious at all, a little hyper maybe but the truth is giving AB a one year veteran minimum incentive laced deal isn't so bad. When an pro athlete dies ,let me know. These guys typically have off the charts high levels of immunity to illness.Yep they just activated a lot of conversations on 'social distancing'!! laugh out loud
The problem is doesn't he have outstanding criminal charges against him?i will say this - the longer this AB, hollywood offseason goes on, and the longer it goes on with Lamar involved, the more likely i think this becomes because you know that if it goes well that lamar is going to vouch for AB and even in his 3rd season that's going to count for something
and if not that then just look at how much brady reportedly wanted AB in tampa bay with him
i think the other thing to note (especially with regards to my above post) is that by all accounts the patriots did not cut him for character problems but for the allegations that came up against him...
honestly those allegations are the biggest barrier to him being brought in i think

You make an excellent point about the allegation of rape against him. I'm sure if we are even contemplating signing him, we would have our own investigators dig into it, but again that would be in normal times under normal circumstances. For a potential 1 yr deal with the domestic violence (in this case rape) hanging over his head, I doubt Bisciotti even entertains the notion. But, if that weren't a major constraint, then he would be a great pickup with the safeguards I listed in place.taking out all the character stuff etc. and just thinking purely financially...
the thing is that a 1 year deal is a lot harder to fit under the cap because the cap hit is all on this year and unless we restructure peters we dont have a huge amount of cap on this team
and with regards to the character stuff - i think the locker room sorts him out - the thing that's going to majorly prevent him coming in if that's something we feel like doing is the rape allegation - given our 0 tolerance policy to domestic/sexual violence, we'd have to be basically 100% sure that AB is innocent or it completely undermines the organisational stance post-ray rice... and im not sure that's going to be possible
