Signings, Cuts, Trades

Interesting that there was not an outright denial. I still don’t think it will happen but this would’ve been the perfect opportunity to shoot the rumor down.

I think winning the division is a must. We haven't shown the ability to advance in the playoffs even with home field. I doubt we can suddenly advance in the playoffs on the road.
I can definitely see it. Strange things have happened in the playoffs. Add in our recent playoff failures and it could help jumpstart our successes like we did with Flacco.

not been our organisation's way of doing things to reveal positively or negatively what we're going to do

My thoughts exactly. Let everyone speculate that AB is on the table, so we aren’t pressed for a wr come draft night, deny it outright and teams will be trading up to 27 to snag the last viable R1 WR before us

Apparently the chances of Clowney re-signing with Seattle is “slim to none”. Please, for the love of god, trade Judon and sign Clowney for 17 million. If we extend Judon at 17 per year I’ll be fucking livid.

Amused at your passion! The front office knows exactly what they're doing my friend. Let's just see what happens.

In EDC I truss, but doesn’t Judon have to sign his tender to be traded? That holdup is what has me worried.

Who else expected EDC to come out say out in the open. Yeah we hated the idea of AB playing catch with Lamar and teaching the route tree to Hollywood. Or conversely, we loved the fact that Lamar is getting chemistry with AB who we are absolutely considering as a free agent! That's right. Nobody.

Trust me if Judon wants to be traded to get the deal he's been seeking that Baltimore doesn't seem to afford, he'll run through a brick wall to sign that tender. It seems to me Judon is only after money (can't blame him though), then he needs his agent to find a trade partner that'll offer him what he looking for. But, we really don't know what's going on in the background...

@JAAM what do you think about pulling off a coup with trading for Ngakoue instead of Clowney? Can you imagine the damage he'll do with our scheme and extra time he gets in his pursuit of the QB?? He can literally devastate offenses all by himself... but is the cost not affordable?

I know I annoyed everyone on here to death talking about Yannick all season, but the Jags want a 1st and then some, and we have much more pressing needs especially since we’ve added Calais and Wolfe. I think a real game-plan wrecker like Clowney who would fill in for Judon would be a better deal for us. We wouldn’t have to give up draft capital, gain draft capital from a Judon trade, open up cap space, and sign Clowney to a 1-year prove it deal, probably for the same price as what Judon wants, if not less since his market is extremely cold and he’s losing leverage by the day.

It seems free agency has officially ground to a halt. I hope the approaching draft goes off without any hiccups.

Yep it's that lull in time. Might see a couple of minor deals, but at this point, might as well wait until you see how the draft goes and adjust afterwards. And from a FA perspective, let some team walk out without filling a need and maybe they become a little more desperate.

Clowney is not a good deal. Too much money for not nearly enough games.

But as you start getting closer to the draft and there are no takers for Ngakoue and he isn't signing his tender, then do you think the Jags will look at more reasonable offers? Like Houston did for Clowney? But, after some thought the Texans do have BoB leading them so there's that...

no such team called the Stealers, unless you are using it sarcastically. Then that's always fine.

They will be much better next year and should absolutely finish above the Browns.

Honestly I would pick the Browns to finish above the Steelers and its not even close. Browns have an actual team whereas the Steelers seem to have gone as far as they can kicking the can down the road. They may need to actually just bite the bullet for a year so they can rebuild properly.

That’s a great point. I could see them settling for less than a 1st because teams would have to pony up a contract extension unless they don’t mind a one-year rental. If that were the case and they’d take a 2nd and a mid round, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Plus it helps that EDC is close to the Jags’s GM. They have no leverage with Yannick. I wouldn’t doubt it for one second if he sits out next season if he has to stay in Jax.

If Judon is going to be traded, it should be before the draft, so these next couple of weeks could get very interesting.

I really can't envision a big trade market for Judon frankly. If he were a free agent, I could see him landing a good deal, but I don't know if teams want to give up the draft capital it would take to pry him from us.
