The criticism of police in vehicles driving forward as people try to block them- It may look bad, but again, playing devil's advocate. Last night I saw people throwing molitof cocktail's. If I get told by a commander to get the hell out of dodge - I have a wife and kids that need me safe. Or if I hear an officer down on the radio or scream for a Signal 13 a few blocks away, like that female officer that got her knee cap dislocated when she was hit with a large piece of concrete, wild horses could not stop me from rolling! For therecord, getting burned alive or ambushed in a shooting in a police car I haveseen peopleburned alive, not me brother! My neighbor growing up, a city police officer, was ambushed and shot and murdered, in his police car while on duty. I was hit in the head with a glass bottle. I never saw it coming. I was shot at twice and never saw where the shots came from. If you are not on the front lines it is easier to criticize. Officers have not went home for five days. There are like five folding cots in the stationhouse and a sofa in the break room so nap in a metal folding chair in the roll call room or the tile floor then wolf downyourbolonga and American cheese sandwich and go out for another 12 hour shift. Tell me how long before your temper gets really short!!!

Some people may be in crowds trying to peaceful protest but when others in the crowd have to rocks in their hands andare threatening police - why is that still considered a peaceful protest and not a riot?

Are any other members on here hear any reports that the officer with his knee on Mr. Floyd s neck and Mr Floyd were co-workers at a nightclub and Mr. Floyd owed the officer money. I heard Mr. Floyd was bouncing checks so maybe he did owe money to the officer. This does not matter because it is still murder and the officer still should spend many years behind bars. I am just curious if there may be more to this whole Minneapolis incident. Maybe what I am hearing was false reports or a hoax. I am not seeing anything on mainstream media about it. I find it strange that the officer, who so many say did what he did because he was a racist cop, is married to an Asian woman. Something does not seem to be adding up for me. When you work in a major city with a large police department with manyAfrican American officers, they would know if you were a racist. He would be shunned, officers would refuse to work with him, he would be forced out or assigned to somewhere in the basement. Trust me on that!

Unfortunately when I see all this rioting, arson, looting, vandalism on TV. I am afraid it is just going to set race relations back many many years. I am reading all the comments on Yahoo and I have never seen such anger over all this. 1000's of posts and very few where people agree with whatis going on. I thought Yahoo was a liberal news site? This is really bad!

no one was stopping them from reversing the car - and all those protestors were behind a metal railing - my driving into the protestors he only put himself in more danger from angered civilians who felt like they'd just been assaulted by the police for no reason

so it doesnt make sense from that standpoint either - if he was scared and needed to get out of there then all he had to do was reverse

Stole a swat truck in my city last night and had the police chasing behind it on foot. Looked exactly like GTA. Not even exaggerating

He was given an order to step back and failed to comply. Failure to comply according to our use of force rules using pepper spray is justified. The young man was between several parked police cars and the rioters in NYC have already set many on fire, jumped all over their cars, smashed out windows with bricks, and vandalised them with spray paint. The city should have a right to protect their equipment. You may disagree with this but if that order to move the crowd back came from a commander, the officer was going to obey it.
Nah. that guy had his arms up all the time. How was he going to throw a brick? It's more unjustified bullshit by police.

Those 1000s were not so concerned when inbreds in Georgia killed a black man while he was jogging.

there will have to be a reckoning after this - the police have consistently acted outside of the law and have been recorded doing so - if anyone ever needed proof that this is a systemic problem just look how police departments all over have acted in the wake of these protests... with impunity and disregard for black lives

if there is no legal recourse to the police's actions then there will be more protests
