The Random Thought Thread

I think the reason he didn’t outright deny it was just another good ole GM talk. “Say something without saying anything.”
If he were to straight up say no, you know espn will find some way to spin that into a narrative of GM and star QB does not see eye to eye.
It's possiblity that they could form that narrative, but the counter would be the weapons that EDC has drafted this year and last year. So they wouldn't be able to use the same argument with the Pack and Rodgers.

This is purely hypothetical so please don't fixate on the first half, I'm asking about the second half of this post. Let's say EDC decidesnto sign AB or some other absolutely legitimate outside receiver after getting cut or through trade. Do you guys think a combo of Marquise and AB on the outside with Boykin in the slot would be our most dangerous option? I know we don't keep people in fixed positions by any means, I just want Boykin to find a home where he will succeed, because if he does, who could stop us?

if we sign AB, Boykin wouldn’t be moved to the slot just because he’s WR3. I think boykin will remain on the outside. It’ll be AB and hollywood playing slot in those 3 WR sets and when it’s 2 WRs.. he can ride bench.

Like every time I'm going to see the players kneel, I'm instantly think of the officer's knee on Floyd's neck. It's literally for that reason and nothing else why I hope they don't kneel and just lock arms or some shit. I think it sends a louder message of unity and strength but that's just my two cents.

I'mma still watch regardless.

The conflation of these two disparate acts must stop. It was started for political expediency by people who cared more about division and scoring political points than uniting this country tearing itself at its seams. People mistook that purposeful conflation to be true. I can't blame them for feeling the way they did a couple of years back. Now, after what this country has witnessed with the killing of Floyd, I say enough is enough. Let the players and whoever else do what they think is the best way to protest what is obvious now - social injustice towards black Americans. So if kneeling during the national anthem to protest social injustice helps them heal so be it. Also kneeling during the Anthem isn't mutually exclusive to respecting the flag and our military. The players never said that ever. That's just my two cents. I'm going to watch regardless as well!

Has anybody considered not playing the anthem at all? Play it before the Super Bowl.
I don't know any other country that does that in their local competitions. North Korea perhaps. The anthem is usually played before the final game of the national cup and internationals. What is the point of doing it every Sunday before every game, like that's the only way of showing patriotism. Making a spectacle of it certainly isn't.

Especially when not every player on every team is from the US in the first place - has always struck me as weird too

Not a bad idea at all.
