Good as lamar played last year i still wouldnt have picked him over arod on my team and i honestly doubt anyone else would have. Yes he played great last year but at no point was he or anyother qb in nfl outside of russ and pat were a better qb than him. Some maybe played better but we know who arod is what he really does on that field. If metcalf and lockett got hurt for russ and all of sudden his numbers drop a little bit, yet he still looks like the great qb he is...... are we really gonna sit here and say someone like josh allen is better than him? Cause thats how i feel arod was treated last year
I would’ve taken 2019 Lamar over any Aaron Rodgers after 2016, without question, the only people who wouldn’t are the “purists” who loathe qbs who gain rushing yards. You’re saying you would take Rodgers based on what he’s been capable of, not based on what he’s been giving you, you keep trying to put it in different terms but it comes out the same every time lol.

if I’m applying the same logic I can easily say that Rodgers started off on a ridiculous pace last year and fell off sharply by late season, so i could just project the same for this season, because that’s what he’s shown us. And idk what josh Allen has to do with this, seems like more of the “look at what Rodgers has done before!” Argument because you’re talking about a veteran vs a young qb

whose been better than mcdaniels since he has been oc? I dont even think there is a debate for it tbh. This dude somehow got the least athletic qb of all time to convert qb sneaks at dam near a 99% rate lol. But honestly i cant think of an OC better than mcdaniels. I know its only been 3 games but cam is completing 68% of his passes, his career avg is 59%.. mcdaniels is incredible man.
LOL, wow is this comical...
1. Your assessment of McDaniels being a great OC is a) Tom Brady is great at QB sneaks, which has nothing to do with McDaniels at all and b) Cam Newton having a completion % that is the same as it was in 2018 with the Panthers, when McDaniels wasn't the OC?
Its pretty easy to raise completion %... just throw the ball shorter.
Look at Cam's air yardage... its about 6 yards. His average attended air yardage is the third lowest of any starting QB in the league in 2020.
2. Off the top of my head, there's at least two offensive play callers I'd take over McDaniels ... Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan. Frankly, you'd be hard pressed to name anything McDaniels does that is better than what these guys do.
If we're going to go "all time", well that list is only going to widen, especially when you start including guys like Don Shula, Bill Walsh, etc.

LFW article today said the ravens will be aggressive at the trade deadline, I have no idea how they could or what would draw the beat writers to that conclusion, but ok...

its all conjecture based on EDC's track record
but if we do it wont be anyone who's on a big contract - would most likely be someone in the final year of their rookie deal or something like that otherwise we'll be in serious cap trouble trying to fit any new guy under the cap

All these players testing positive probably means its everywhere by now, it usually takes 2 weeks for symptoms to show and many are going to be asymptomatic.

I think Kansas City is deploying COVID to their upcoming opponents because this is the second week in a row where someone from their upcoming opponent tested positive. #BlackHelicopters

I never thought the NFL would be able to handle this the way the NBA could.

Looks like Joe Flacco is a starting QB again. Joe gets the nod against Arizona on Sunday, hope he does well. Though I imagine if he wins any games and screws up getting Trevor Lawrence, Jets fans will be pissed at Joe.

Youre right. It's still not as failsafe as a bubble, the NBA has been using it successfully as well as the rugby league in Australia.
I know, I feel like the bubble cities would’ve worked really well, like dedicate 8 cities to bubble up nba style and allow family members to come with the players, only play games in those cities, do different days and times to accommodate field work, put neutral logos on the field. I’m sure the nfl could’ve worked something out, should be a lot easier for a sport that plays one game a week

Any names out there we can target who might be on the last year of their rookie deal or a vet on their last year? We only have 13.5

apparently lots of coaches etc. advocated for that type of bubble system - basically setting up 3 or 4 area bubbles purportedly in florida, california and around maryland because there's about 3 different NFL stadiums available in those areas - they would set up 4 8 team bubbles and have all teams in each bubble play each other twice

basically would join up a couple of divisions in a bubble

would probably have been AFC North + NFC East would be based in Maryland(ish), NFC North + AFC East is the one with a murky location , NFC South + AFC South would be in Florida and AFC West + NFC West would be based in california

that was the proposal but it got nixed pretty quickly by the NFL

in terms of edge guys:

ryan kerrigan (might be too expensive with 8m left on his cap hit for this year)
takk mckinley (falcons might be fine letting him go especially if dan quinn isnt going to be around in 2021)
markus golden

those are all i could think of for in-season additions

but looking at the list of guys free agent in 2021 i was reminded just how dire a situation we're in at that position moving forwards - we're already under-manned but have 4 of our 5 OLBs set to be free agents in 2021 with only Jaylon Ferguson definitely on the 2021 roster - there's going to be a lot of work to do fixing that position next offseason unless we can magically find a marcus peters type acquisition this year (but i have absolutely no clue who that could possibly be)
