They were never rolling over teams if alex smith never won anything lol. Id bet my money that if you took pat off kc and put him on panthers, panthers would be considered as a team with “ great weapons”, thats all im saying.. you remove pat off kc and put someone else there, that whole entire offense isnt as deadly as it once was. Hardman, watkins, robinson are not great players. Like cmon, pat and tyreke make those guys. Dj moore>watkins, robbie>hardman , cmc>ceh x100.. so that leaves hill and kelce whom are really the only weapons they have who we know can ball elsewhere.. panthers only popped up in my head cause they also have speed. I just dnt like how everyone throws shade on pat pretending like he really has stud wrs.

another example would be eagles, we dont hear media hyping up their weapons cause theyre losing but put pat on that team and all of a sudden “ they have the best supporting cast”.. same goes for cowboys, browns and bucs who are easily top 3 as far as supporting cast. Its just pat has weapons that best fit his skill set and hill fast ass run 100mph everywhere opening up everything.

nobody’s saying mahomes isn’t amazing - he is - what we’re objecting to is the idea that he’s untouchable - what separates him is not how he reads defences but how he problem solves on the fly post-snap - that’s when he does things that almost no one else can or would do but he’s not a pre-snap savant

so of course he would make most teams better including the chiefs

that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have amazing talent around him and the best offensive play designer and playcaller(s) in football and that that helps him out

That's also because Reid and Bieniemy designed an effective offense which provides Pat different outs depending on coverages. They hired a guy just to study college spread offenses.

Understandable..He has good talent but idk why people act like theyre just so amazing when theyre not.trying to discredit everything he does. theyre only amazing because of what he brings to the table and what the play callers help him with and its exactly the same for lamar and how our offense works.

i take issue only with the idea that he's lightyears ahead of lamar in anything other than pure arm-strength

my other issue is the narrative behind their coaches - greg roman gets so much praise for Lamar's success whereas Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy are allowed to be successful and it doesn't impact the narrative about mahomes - people are for some reason more comfortable separating the coaching from the QB play when talking about KC and not when talking about Lamar and baltimore

people talk about system an awful lot when talking about the ravens and hardly ever at all when talking about the chiefs

Now this is the truth.. im at the point now where i really believe lamar can play in any system.

Cowboys browns and bucs have legitimately great weapons and are all in the conversation for best skill group in the league, along with the chiefs. And you’re saying if you remove mahomes from the chiefs they would regress, obviously, having a great qb does that, that doesn’t mean the panthers have a better skill group than him, and it doesn’t mean the ravens do either.

as a matter of fact, if you wanna use the “remove mahomes” argument, then what does the ravens offense look like if you remove Lamar... boy lemme tell ya, I’d rather have Alex Smith with that chiefs squad than Bob with our offensive roster, no question.

Once Lamar can consistently 1) hit the deep ball and 2) deliver while throwing on the run, he'll truly be the killer that defenses will fear.

I’ve only seen a small sample size on tape after the games but Boykin and Snead look so damn slow out of their breaks. No wonder Lamar zeroes in on Hollywood and Mark. Boykin could be a beast of a TE with his size and blocking so maybe we should take the Waller route and make sure we can find some kind of route running stud in the offseason. Emmanuel Sanders last night was running routes like a video game. It was honestly beautiful to watch and I wish Lamar had another option like that. And I’ll keep saying it over and over: can we PLEASE see some under center from Lamar?

under center creates so many limitations for this offence though - it neutralises the threat of the lamar run and reduces the types of play action play we can run to mainly just bootlegs which is the kind of play where lamar's been under the most pressure - im just not sure what benefit putting lamar under center would have

I just want to see some variety besides the Pistol and Gun formations I guess, plus I want to limit Lamar’s running a tad

I just wanna see more Duv out there. Feel like he already runs better routes than Boykin and looks quick in everything he does.
