He did alright in the run game at the very least. Always seemed to be one step away from making a direct impact though. Quieter game but heavy usage so I'd be surprised if he and the rest of the OLBs weren't gassed at various points.

I’m really concerned about our defense. I know we had d line out but I’ve never seen a team throw flares to running backs like today constantly for huge yardage.

showed off that crazy athleticism to spill and chase down Amon-Ra St Brown from behind on that end-around play where he probably actually put himself in poor position initially
and he's living rent-free in every lions fan's head

those are all key elements of our defence against those flares or swings or screens - normally a combination of bowser, elliott, queen and madubuike can kill those
also worth pointing out that swift is electric with the ball in his hands in those situations

True but the Lions are a bad football team.
The constant successful flare and swing passes to backs was embarrassing.
Our D is going to have to improve a lot for us to be a decent playoff team.

correct. We are as close to 3-0 as we are 0-3.

I believe in this team big picture, but as of now I don’t think we have our shit together.
I do look at these 3 games and see this team getting calloused and battle tested early, and facing big adversity and still managing to come out with wins, and this is all while we’re going through a terrible string of injuries and covid losses, and trying to gel with a bunch of guys who went straight to the active roster without even a full week of practice. I see Lamar putting the team on his back week in and week out, and I also see the defense struggling to finish because of the lack of rotation.
I know all of this can work itself out partially in the long run, but I don’t see our tackles holding up next week vs the Broncos and it’s gonna
Make this a VERY hard game
for sure - but i dont think that we had the players and ability to defend that adjustment once the Lions realised they had that mismatch with Swift
we need to make it through this period until reinforcements arrive - but the battle testing of this team early is definitely the type of adversity that this group will learn tons from - especially when they've grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat the last 2 weeks in unconventional ways
there's value in just winning
