yeah if bozeman keeps this up he probably becomes the 2nd most important contract this offseason (after lamar)
averett's one where we'd probably love to keep him but he's going to play 17 games as a starting corner so he's probably going to get paid to play elsewhere
especially with brandon stephens clearly being earmarked as a safety and not a corner

I mean, with Averett, if you move on from Tavon after the year (seems likely), that's like $6M in cap savings right there. I have no idea what Averett's open market pricing is, but I'd probably be a little shocked if he got more than like $10M per year on the open market. Tavon was one of the best slot corners in the league when we signed him, and he got like $8.5M a year. Outside corners are higher valued in the league generally, but point being, you can probably pay for a good chunk of Averett's status by just cutting another Corner who's probably too overpriced for you anyway.
The other possibility is that they choose Averett over Peters. Peters has a $15.5M cap hit next year, with $10M in savings if you release him. He'll be 29 coming off a major injury. I probably wouldn't go that route, but with all of the extensions you probably want to hand out this year, there's going to have to be tough choices somewhere else. Especially true if people also want to upgrade the Oline outside of the draft, rebuild the front seven, etc.
I feel Averett gets over 10m next season if he continues playing well. I would like to extend Peters to possibly lower his cap hit this season and sign Bozeman.

This team cannot let Bozeman walk. With that piece there, we still have AV and James. AV is most likely getting cut which I think saves 6 mil. With Stanley most likely healthy by next year, I'm fine drafting the rest of the pieces for OL. Still have Philips and Cleveland for LG and focus on tackle See next draft being heavy on OL and DL. Few DBs as usual.

Ben is finished . I think he retires after this season
not sure that tells the whole story in terms of his pass coverage or his downhill ability... 2 of those 5 completions came in single coverage vs Travis Kelce which is an improbable mismatch and not something we should expect him to do much about...
not sure where the evidence of missed tackles or getting overrun by is - because i dont see it in the film at all and Kay didn't cite any evidence for it in his article...
Harrison's had a poor start and there's a reason he's losing snaps to Board and there's a reason a 73 year old Josh Bynes is now on the active roster again but idk that this article is particularly fair or contextualised - dude just had to pick one player from every team to bench and probably looked through listed starters and found the lowest starter PFF grade or something... because for all intents and purposes Harrison's already sort of on the bench - we've been using a rotation all season and even moreso against the Lions

Well most of it was sparked from Rodgers appearing on McAfee's show and saying how he respected the Steelers, which doesn't really mean much, considering they play the Steelers this week and Rodgers would say that about any opponent he would play.
For me, there's nothing actually linking the two teams, just media reporters trying to hypothesize where he could go, and looking for teams that have QB openings.
