As much as I wanna agree with you, there was never really a period where either of those guys were the absolute best receiver in the league. Andre Johnson was on a boldin level BEFORE his prime, and he was the undisputed best receiver in the league for probably 3 seasons and was a top 3 guy for like a 6 year stretch.

I get where you’re coming from because those guys are bigger names, but that’s really about it, andre Johnson was a quiet player on his own separate tier from the rest of the league for quite a long time, you had him and Larry fitz and nobody else was in their realm, including Steve smith and boldin

This explains the case for Steve Smith better than I could

Chris Wesseling was a hell of a writer (one of my favourite nfl writers) - it sucks that he died so young

Oh They both absolutely belong in the hall, don’t get me wrong, andre Johnson basically stood alone for a long time though, there was a pretty long stretch where andre Johnson was the best receiver in the league and nobody would even debate it, that didn’t happen with those guys. I’m just making the case for andre Johnson going in before them is all

I think that’s partly because of his absence - he’s made sure to stay completely uninvolved with the NFL post-career - I think he’s only publicly said anything like once in the last 5 years and it was to signal-boost some stuff from current players complaining about jack Easterby

This is why I believe you might think Steve and Q should go in before him, I’m just saying I disagree entirely, Steve was a major figure in the NFL but his peaks never really competed with Andres peaks, and Q was just fun because he was so different from the typical receiver skillset, but Andre was straight up the best receiver in the league for a longer period than most receivers would be able to say, he reigned longer than Hopkins, about as long as megatron, longer than Randy moss, his career is only rivaled by guys like TO and Larry fitz, where he not only put up HOF numbers for a very long time but also had a prime where he was untouchable in the league for a long time.

Steve smith and boldin to me are more in the ochocinco, Isaac Bruce, cris carter tier where they’re definite elite HOF receivers but they are second tier to guys who very clearly reigned supreme over them and every other receiver in the league

I don't get how Mike Vrabel is getting all this praise for fielding the most players ever because of injuries, is in the running for Coach of The Year but Harbaugh is nowhere near the discussion.

also like a lot of the titans injuries and use of tons of players has been down to 1 or 2 week injuries - they've never had as many guys on i/r as we do/have done...

nor have those missing players been anywhere near as impactful as the ones we're missing lol

that being said ive got no issues with mike vrabel being in that discussion at all - just Harbs should be also

if i were putting together a shortlist of coach of the year candidates for 2021 im looking at:
Brian Flores
Frank Reich
John Harbaugh
Andy Reid
Bill Belichick
Matt LaFleur
Mike Vrabel

would be really surprised if one of these guys didn't win the award

Lol that's been there for a year now. I think they have bots or something that auto shares the news section with PF

yep - not mink - just something that pulls the stuff from BR and shares it here - doesnt really create engagement here though (probably because it wasnt here from the outset and also because not enough people here engage with br.com generally)
