The 2022 Offseason Thread

Seems like the 3 "standouts" of the UDFA group so far have been Devon Williams, Shemar Bridges, and Slade Bolden. Not that any have done anything great but it seems like they have something to build on while the Polk, Clark, and Webb trio could be the guys that fall off in favor of a vet or tryout guy at some point.

Could also see them fall off for guys not at WR too. Have to imagine we're going to need to add a ST or two just to keep guys like Tucker, Stout, and Moore fresh. And when you look at 12 WRs, it's an easy place to drop from. Luckily you can roster them as "tryout" guys during this portion but going to need to create room during camp if they want someone like that.

yeah they've got a sub long-snapper right now in the building on a tryout and id imagine tucker and stout will just do as much/as little as they need to - they're not gonna be overworked for the sake of doing work

we've also got the roster spot open from the settlement with wolfe

but i agree with the names you've given - polk has been one of the quietest names in camp, clark seems to be doing something wrong in basically every practice clip i see and idk who webb is which probably says more than either of those first two lol

bridges had hype early in rookie minicamp, williams probably the most naturally talented of all the udfas and bolden has the natural advantage of having played for Bama and playing on special teams at bama as well as being suited to the non-contact part of the season

Tee mentioned bringing in a track dude to tryout at WR yesterday. Guess he fast?

interesting that both morgan moses and ja'wuan james have been playing some LT reps with ronnie out of here - i think emphasising the fact that in the ravens coaches views right now, James is the clear OT3

harbs didnt even bring up mekari when talking about tackle although in a clip i saw today he did sub in for a bag drill rep for moses at RT

obviously mentioned faalele and jaryd jones smith too - but very specifically talked about 5 guys and not mekari as the tackles

Watch lamar's presser - the whole thing - was awesome

and idk that i feel like the narrative built about his contract could be further from the truth - he's playing it close to the vest but i dont get the impression that he's stuck on not doing anything this year - said no discussions have happened recently because he's been away from the team and he's already had discussion with EDC this week about the deal

but classic lamar he's also not revealing anything about those negotiations or what he will/won't do - literally anything that tried to peak into things he didnt want to talk about he went to a "we're having conversations" in a marshawn lynch kinda way lol

was very calming/comforting - it's amazing the way he holds himself - because of his injury we've not got to speak to him for a long time - i was smiling the whole way through the presser

Phillips has time and time again shown that he can't do it. I badly want Cleveland to win the competition. As should everyone else other than those with a personal agenda who want Phillips to win just because he's Tyre Phillips and they need to be proven right.
