The Random Thought Thread

this is very interesting and a trend to keep track of - it's possible it doesnt hold and it just turns out it's early season lag because teams played a historically low number of starters in preseason... but more likely it's to do with the changes in defensive philosophy and different use of various coverages

which makes what lamar and the ravens are doing so bizarre - because yet again, teams are defending us differently to how they defend other offences

maybe the true value of lamar's legs are not necessarily the actual running value, but that the threat of the running value prevents defences from playing effective pass defence which allows us to maintain passing efficiency in a league that has found some answers to slowing down high octane passing attacks...

Outside of that one miscommunication......................

I was starting to think that it was a bad thing how I hardly ever hear his name (other than the end of the Miami game), and now I’m thinking that actually might be a good thing since he’s shutting down his guys. Now I hope the picks come

It’s a mixture of things - he’s not been put in a bunch of stressful situations with crazy assignments - he’s a really naturally gifted professor with tons of range - and he’s only playing 20-30 snaps a game (think he only had 19 against the pats)

You’re not hearing his name a lot because the balls not going his way a ton, he’s not making many mistakes and he’s not playing starter snaps

It’s almost as if that’s the nature of the position he plays lol. If you never hear a dbs name that means he’s done his job incredibly well, everything beyond that is what you’d probably call playmaking

Ravens fan from Utah for the past 18 years. Visiting the area for my first Ravens home game ever (the Ravens Monday night game against the Bengals). What are some of the places I should check out?
How many wives do you have?

Something I’ve noticed…….All QBs work off of a rhythm, when they are in it they play they’re best and it seems Lamar finds his best rhythm after he has had a successful run. Could be related to the way the D plays after, but it also seems LJ is more confident in his play, both passing and running if he can break a decent run.

Ive always said that when he runs, he would take those little hits or sometimes run at defenders to gain confidence or to knock the rust off lol.now that you mention rhythm, its makes a lot of sense and its more likely true about his game.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Ravens DL Michael Pierce suffered a torn biceps in Week 3.

Rapoport said "there is not definitive word yet on how to proceed and if Pierce can continue playing at some point this season. Those tests and decisions are ongoing." Pierce was carted off the field in Week 3 against the Patriots after suffering the injury. He would seem to be out for at least a few weeks. Pierce has six tackles this season.

Someone call Ray, pronto. It's possible to get that fixed by playoffs.
