Next Up: @ Bye

But you ain't keeping 5 TEs plus a FB on this roster long term no matter what. Maybe in the short term when you still have some flexibility but it can't stay that way forever. What's the need to cut from ST in that case?
I agree to a large extent, but will counter with: 5TEs or 6ILBs are only slight differences in the level of crazy.

Without looking at snap counts, I suspect that we have played more total TE snaps than ILB snaps this season. But again, neither is healthy roster construction ;)

And as an add-on, I keep Bynes over Phillips if Ross returns as Bynes is still just one injury from starting and Phillips is many steps off and Ross can take over the ST parts.

Don't think you should even really be looking at them as ILBs. They can play there in a pinch but they're on this roster for ST reasons. Boyle's been doing some ST work but even he isn't going to be as valuable over the long term when it comes to contributions. If/when you have 5 TEs on the roster, 1-2 of them are sitting in favor of guys like Phillips and Welch because they provide more value on gameday.

Kolar apparently getting activated this week
Ojabo on the horizon too (get the sense that maybe as a rookie without a training camp he might still be not quite ready)

Gus apparently back for the next game
JK back in a few weeks

Have usually been a good post bye team when we can actually field a team. Defense shaping up and hopefully guys come back healthy. Wouldn't play anyone earlier than we need to with the strength of schedule ahead.

im not that disappointed with wallace - everything about the offseason suggested he wasnt really in the discussion at WR and was more of a gunner

what was surprising to me was that he was deactivated over ben victor despite victor not factoring on special teams
That's the thing though. Highly touted rookie. A little flashing his late rookie year. "We like our guys". *Not bringing people into the room until mid season*.

And as you said, he was never going to factor. I thought he could've been one of those steal of the drafts guy. He might not make the team next year who knows.

he's just never seemingly got his speed back post-injury from college and he's not big enough to play the way he did in college in the NFL

This team has a special feeling brewing to it. It's deficient as fuck at WR. Lamar has yet to tap into is absolute best since week 2. We still have a bunch of injuries. But for the first time, the defense played close to a perfect game. The offense even in the face of mass adversity has put up 2 very strong identity forming performances. The cavalry is still incoming. This team needs to do two things. Get healthy and get Lamar comfortable and in a groove. If it can do those two things, it can compete with anyone.

Charlie Kolar finally activated to The Ravens roster. Let the tight end empire proceed
