The Defence, The Offence and The Clutching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

“immaculate rejection” …. As much as I hate to admit it, that’s pretty good. It’s going to be a long fricking offseason. God help us if the Bengals win the Superbowl…
Doesn’t deserve it, stakes and expectations were low and it was a game they should have won by 30.

I just think it's funny that your assumption is that we become a coaching carousel team just because we choose to say thanks John, we're gonna try something new after 15 seasons. That is the sky is falling if I've ever seen it. 15 years is a long time and two quality OC's in that time and one fill in that regrouped the team and helped get a SB is not a good reflection on a HC when he had his hands in the selection and retention of all of the ones who have been here longest and done the least. Marty, Marc, and Greg.

And for the record, I was for Billick being replaced too when they did it and his OC's were no more stupendous than John's. Sometimes it's just time.

The track record shows this franchise will find someone that they trust and want to stick with and who they'll give every opportunity to succeed. We are not the Browns or the Jags and it's shocking that you would fear that we would become that after choosing to part ways with a coach after 15 seasons. There is nothing to support your fear and everything to support the opposite.
maybe you're right but i just completely disagree in firing Harbaugh. It's not like we haven't been competitive year in and year out.

Greg Roman won offensive assistant of the year in 2019, both in 2019 and 2020 The Ravens offense was ranked top 10 in a.scoring, and in. 2021 i think The Ravens offense was ranked 6th overall. The last time Mary M was The Ravens OC I believe The Ravens offense was ranked 8th overall he ushered in a rookie Lamar Jackson at the time that helped The Ravens enter the playoffs. Cam Cameron maybe the least liked offensive coordinator but he deserves credit from helping a quarterback drafted from Delaware University to be a franchise quarterback. The Ravens also not only have playoff success with Cam Cameron calling plays but there has been some memorable moments with him as their play caller. Outside of Marc Trestman I think Harbaugh has probably had more than one quality coordinator and if you disagree then that just makes his resume even better cause the guy has won a lot of games with just two suppose quality offensive coordinator's
Jim Caldwell, Klint Kubiak

Yeah it's like we're not allowed to use both in the same game lol. Not even 1 target is crazy though
I mean I guess. That's not where I'd be looking to complain though. WRs in total got 6 targets on 29 pass attempts. I don't think my biggest concern would be how many targets my #2 TE is getting when that happens.

I just don't get this response. There's no evidence either way, objectively. But this team is just starting to acquire the stench of the 2007 team. You had the team supporting a HC in 2006 and after an early exit in the Playoffs they started chirping. Dobbins is the first to fire a shot across their bow and I don't think he's going to be the last.

Take a page from Bill Belichik, a man who gives zero fucks about what the press thinks. "We going to begin preparation for next week's game..." No one is thrown under the bus, no misinterpretations about what was said or wasn't - because when you talk about one thing and not another there must be a reason for it, right? It's a difficult spot, but it doesn't have to be.

I aslo don't care how fast he would be picked up by another team. That is inconsequential to us if we think the team has stagnated under his leadership and are in need of new blood. I think we have and are. But I'm just one of many fans or posters, apparently filled with hubris (as someone said ^_^ ) and know-it-all-ism. Whatever. Even some steadfast John Harbaugh supporters inched closer to questioning him about what many of us have questioned him about for a few years. I can get over wanting a breath of fresh air in the HC job if we treat it like acquiring Kubiak, but if it is another handpicked JH OC like Marty, or Marc, or the like, we're right back to a repeat of this year and the last few, imo.

I agree. But if you take it or have the job, you accept it warts and all and get handsomely paid in the meantime.
Look, for me, its real simple... this franchise ain't moving on from a HC, coming off a playoff appearance, and nearly winning a game, when he played the last month + with a backup QB. It's just not going to happen. If John's not back next year, it'll be because he doesn't want to be. People can say he hasn't won enough, but simultaneously, he also hasn't lost enough.

It's just not going to happen. They'll make coaching changes, they'll make personnel changes. John's not getting fired this year, nor do I think he should. Fans can spend the whole offseason bitching about it, or accept it and move on to actual decisions that can happen and actual decisions that will change the 2023 roster. Of which there are a ton.

Also I don't know why fans think Kubiak was a "different hire" than MM, Roman, Trestman, etc. They're all the same. They were John's choices. Literally the entire organization has acknowledged that.

some people think Harbaugh was forced into the Kubiak choice, by the front office. I'm not one of them.

4th and 12 and now this bullshit play. They are the luckiest team in the league the Bills better destroy them
Bengals and their fans were certainly not satisfied with that victory. We played them well in 3 games this season and the one we had our starter, we won. We would have beaten them yesterday with Lamar and I have no doubt in my mind. Sad, because we truly had an opportunity to go all the way with LJ.

Blatant block in the back, I’m starting to get pissed off again. The trash talk and bragging is heating up again as I knew it would, they beat Lamar actually on Sunday. He sucks in the playoffs so it would have been no different they say

We really did and it’s why I’ve been so upset since the day it happened. And when the Bateman injury happened. I mean this is two years in a row we get robbed of a great opportunity

Well also the people that think that are doing so based on information that was retracted/debunked, and don't really have any basis for that opinion whatsoever.

Basically the people that think that are objectively wrong.
Harbaugh has actually hired some good assistants, but he takes a lot of flak for not firing them in time. Really the issue is, we need to go through coordinators faster.
