You know what? Initially, after the presser, I felt great! I was like, Yeah! They want to keep my guy L-Jack for the long term because they know they have a great thing in him and his abilities to build around. However, the more I began to look at it (the presser), it does come across as a smoke screen to make Lamar appear to be the bad guy by not being "willing" to compromise somewhat to get the deal done. That gives off the impression that he is greedy and only thinks of himself and not the overall effectiveness of the team. EDC alluded to that notion with his "It takes two to tango," comment.
Sadly, many Ravens fans, former NFL players, and sports media analysts feel the same way! The presser comes across as a mere smokescreen to show a united front by the Ravens brass (Bisciotti, EDC and Harbaugh, etc.) in tossing out the narrative that we wanted to make a deal happen but it didn't happen because of Lamar. While along, they know that they may either tag him or tag him and trade him. Well, as they say, "talk is cheap." If Lamar is "the guy," "your guy," then make it happen by SHOWING HIM THE MONEY!
