No you won’t
Same thing with Lamar getting traded. I don't want to see him traded. But if he does get traded, all these Lamar fanboys masquerading as Ravens fans will finally fuck off, everybody will see them for the fake bitches they really are, and it'll be great for the fanbase overall.

It's a win-win.

God I love it when you wake up choosing violence

Same. I don’t trust him. That shit all Andy Reid lol
I’m so confused because what the hell does EB even do then lol? Just stand there on the sideline lookin good?

that's the ideal
Bateman + someone new + Robinson is ok
Bateman + someone new + someone new + Robinson is pretty good
That's an excellent assessment of what we need. With particular focus on the second alternative. We really need a true #2 and another #2 or fringe #2/3, plus Robinson. That's a reality. If Bateman goes down again, we can't have a WR corps of #3's and below, whatever the breakdown.

edit - I hate it when I agree with you. lol

Said from last off season I didn't expect him back long term and this was my thinking as well. Whichever route they go just build properly. Please, whoever we have back there, upgrade the weapons for the current or next guy under center.
I still think it’s 80/20 Lamar signs long term Vs trade, but if we do trade I want nothing to do with a bridge QB. I want a young rookie early in the first round. Even if we don’t love the crop this year or don’t get a high enough trade I’m ok with a Huntley tank year so we can get the guys early next year

For some reason Duvernay is considered a trash receiver to some Ravens fans. He is now the new Tandon Doss or David Reed. If that receiver doesn't run routes like Derrick Mason or Odell Beckham then he is considered a bum.
I mean duv doesnt really get separation at all. He is like the exact replica of perriman

oh im 100% expecting more than just 1 addition - was just listing potential depth chart situations
i still expect that we'll have 2 new starters in 11 personnel - i imagine 1 will be a free agent maybe with an ok-decent sized contract, i hope 1 will be a day 1/2 draft pick (as long as the board falls right), and i imagine we'll double or even triple dip

but i imagine we'll also raid some WR vet cast-offs like we've done in the past and bring them in either for the minimum or close to round out the depth and add competition like we did the year we had seth roberts for 2m and michael floyd come into camp on a minimum deal

i hope we find someone we like in the draft and free agency - but i imagine we'll also be looking at willie snead, john brown, michael crabtree, seth roberts types
a new oc that could get likely involved more would almost count as an extra addition

Lol yes

Why is he on multiple 1-year deals with the chiefs if he’s a major player on that offense? Chiefs don’t care if he walks or not, cause that shit all Reid

Wait, but who's our #1? Bateman isn't the possession #1 we need. He's like a slightly worse Jacoby Jones. We need an Anquan Boldin, but one that's a rookie.

I think that's just easy to say but we all know Roman asked his receivers to run deep routes alot. That's not really what Devin Duvernay is strong at. How many routes did he run that really took advantage of what he could do in space? How often did we see him run slants and drag routes ? How often was he used on screens ? Why was he only used in the slot 20 percent of time when he was legit The Ravens best receiver after Bateman season ending injury ?

So I generally agree.

BUT... which candidates are we interviewing that's not the same for? I don't think I've seen a single interview we've done for somebody who's a current or really even former NFL play caller (though I haven't followed all the list). Everybody we're going after is basically EB type... some assistant coach behind a generally good play caller, or a play caller in College.

So like why do we think EB is garbage, but we're willing to entertain Zac Robinson, or Dave Canales, as if they're like out here secretly running the offense behind the scenes? They're just guys behind guys like just like EB is.

Like McVay pretty much voluntarily agreed to let his entire coaching staff seek other jobs, even though he already announced he's coming back. That's not a red flag for anybody?

Lets be real about our "candidates"... they're QB coaches, passing game coordinators, WR coaches, and either OC's people seemingly don't respect (EB) or college OC's that we have no clue will succeed in the league.

They all have red flags.

For me, this is where the fanbase loses me. Everybody wants the younger, "innovative" type, but nobody wants the risk of that guy not being that guy. You want the guy that's already "made". You want McVay and Shanahan. You don't want the guy who works for them that may be good but might also suck.

Well I'm fine with EB, I just think that if we are finding a new OC, then why don't we risk it for Canales? he seems to have amazing potential. I would love to have him on our staff

I'm absolutely fine with potential. I just don't understand why he offers more potential that EB or any of the other guys.

I'm also just not convinced the fanbase has the balls to stand behind a hire based on "potential", and be accountable for the possible disappointment that comes if that potential isn't reached.
