He’s currently losing his shit I’m sure. Standby.
I mean... would it really hold down salaries though? Like there's still a salary floor, and if there was no CBA, there's no floor, which means many owners would voluntarily spend less. The salary cap is great for competitiveness but it's even better for the owners because it holds down salaries.
Fully guaranteed contracts for all would wreck the current CBA. My main criticism of the NFLPA is that they lose every single CBA negotiation.
I would also point out that the reason the NFLPA loses so many negotiations is because the public doesn't get entertainment from individual players. They get entertainment from the sport. I could make a case that the product and talent they display isn't even that important.Keep siding with the billionaire owners rather than the players who entertain you.
Those 32 people, over half of whom inherited their team or their wealth, clearly deserve to get 50% of the entire revenue of the sport. They must be incredible athletes.
I hope Burrow signs before Lamar .I'm not sure if it is better when Burrow signs before Lamar. Could be beneficial to get a new starting point.
But again we have no idea where they're currently at.
I think Burrow and/or Herbert signing before Lamar would be beneficial in either direction. Either they don't get fully guaranteed and Lamar has to fall in line, or they do and the Ravens are more comfortable doing the same now that it's become a trend. Still fully believe it's the principle on both sides holding this thing up.I'm not sure if it is better when Burrow signs before Lamar. Could be beneficial to get a new starting point.

I want Burrow to sign before Lamar because I think it will show the Watson deal is an aberration. No 100 % guaranteed moneyI think Burrow and/or Herbert signing before Lamar would be beneficial in either direction. Heck, Hurts is expected to get an extension this offseason. If he wins Super Bowl MVP and DOESN'T get guaranteed money, Lamar loses leverage for sure.I want Burrow to sign before Lamar because I think it will show the Watson deal is an aberration. No 100 % guaranteed money
At first I was like what the hell? when you said that, but after you said that, I understand. Yeah. Give Burrow a huge contract but not guaranteed. SHow Lamar what he'll get.I want Burrow to sign before Lamar because I think it will show the Watson deal is an aberration. No 100 % guaranteed money
Well not in his mind, maybeHeck, Hurts is expected to get an extension this offseason. If he wins Super Bowl MVP and DOESN'T get guaranteed money, Lamar loses leverage for sure.
Ahh I got you, that’s unions for you though. My stepdad is union through and through and even he thinks his union reps are combative assholes lolI usually side with NFLPA actually, but sometimes I think they're just being assholes.
Or getting rid of the hard cap. Could easily add some homegrown/long-term player clause type of thing and get their players more money.Ahh I got you, that’s unions for you though. My stepdad is union through and through and even he thinks his union reps are combative assholes lol
I think fully guaranteed deals isn’t really fair in the nfl unless 2-3 year deals became the norm. Way too many players fall off after 3 good seasons to justify fully guaranteed 5+ year deals. Players may have to be flexible if they want it
Lamar has always been about betting on himself. Even if both Burrow and Hurts get deals without it being 100% guaranteed Lamar still might demand it.Heck, Hurts is expected to get an extension this offseason. If he wins Super Bowl MVP and DOESN'T get guaranteed money, Lamar loses leverage for sure.
Oh please, he would have absolutely demanded big deals too. I'll never be against a player trying to get every dime he can out of a league run by billionaires."This culture wants every dang dime they can get. So you have to sacrifice some things to be in that position and I don't think this culture is ready to make those types of sacrifices." -Deion Sanders
This is all still under assumption that Lamar is asking for a fully guaranteed contract. He isn't but I'm sure he wants significantly more than what Kyler got and he'd be worth every penny.Heck, Hurts is expected to get an extension this offseason. If he wins Super Bowl MVP and DOESN'T get guaranteed money, Lamar loses leverage for sure.
Well someone mentioned Kyler got 80 % guaranteed. If Lamar wants more there’s not much space between that and 100 % , it would be damn close to 100 % .This is all still under assumption that Lamar is asking for a fully guaranteed contract. He isn't but I'm sure he wants significantly more than what Kyler got and he'd be worth every penny.
praising Brady, not himselfOh please, he would have absolutely demanded big deals too. I'll never be against a player trying to get every dime he can out of a league run by billionaires.
