I get the feeling the Lamar-Ravens contract negotiations have become a Mexican stand off with neither party going to give an inch.

Lamar will be traded if this is the case. I'd send him to a cold weather city like Green Bay . He hates cold weather and has he ever had a great game in cold weather ? think about it.

So I think what Keyshawn was saying was interesting. Give him guaranteed money over 4 years but in a 5 or 6 year contract... if I understood correctly. That's a more typical contract where the guarantee is say $200M, but it comes out as an escalator $42 this year $50 next year, then 58 then 50 in the fourth year. Kind of structure it where he's still gonna get the money and have his last years where he's making only $45M. That puts the hones on him to renegotiate the deal at year 3 to get more money if he's doing well or for the Ravens to have an escape hatch after year 3, but definitely before year 4 and beyond.

Problem is - I don't think that works for Lamar's math. He's gonna want AAV and highest guaranteed and I think that is impossible. I think It's more impossible if he plays on the Tag and has a stellar year. It wouldn't surprise me to find out they have a package ready to present before the draft and that it got a lukewarm reception from Lamar.

...I think we are entering the non-exclusive tag realm... I would love to know how other teams value him. But that could also be had by putting the exclusive on him and immediately announcing that Lamar is on the blocks.

I could be wrong here, and lambaste me if you disagree, but I think I an honestly fair deal for Lamar is somewhere along the lines of 6 years 300M total with 200 guaranteed.
