It's pretty exciting there were a couple players on the board who it would seem like we had pretty high grades on - like higher than our slot. Shocking that Zay and Banks were both available. I'd say it was a gift to Lamar, but I thought if there was a CB available there that it would be Banks and that we'd nab him. I don't think you could go wrong with either, but Zay seems to fit the message of the day a little better.

The other reason I liked Banks is because he's a real local kid. Edgewood High then MD. If even 50% of our local HS talent would consider MD over other more exotic places, we'd be way better than we are year after year. Even more true of Hoops. MD just doesn't attract the local guys. Anyway.... I digress.

The Zay pick is exciting; I have to admit that.

that's a lazy comp, just because they are similar size. Flowers is much more physical than Hollywood and I like Hollywood a lot.

Flowers is a more exciting prospect than Bateman but Bateman felt like a much safer prospect, and so far only injuries seem to be changing that

Let me make something clear. I can clearly see Batemans potential when he’s plays. I do believe it healthy he would be 1 to Zays 2 in the future

However, he hasn’t been available to let me see that. Last year I thought he would have a monster year

and he was having a monster year until he was injured. He started strong but he does need to solve the drop issues he was having as well. In his rookie yr he only had 1 drop so i know he can catch the ball.
