Mekari is the swing tackle at both spots, per Harbaugh. So he's the LT if Stanley is out (which is what happened yesterday). Mustipher is the new C (filled in for Linderbaum yesterday as well).

I don't know who the backup Center is or if we even have one. Manning and Doss were the only other lineman I saw on the PS, and I don't believe either has any C experience. So assuming PS isn't an option, I would think its one of three options:
a) Cleveland or Sala
b) a street FA
c) Mekari goes from LT to Center, and then Faalele goes to LT. This seems unlikely to me, but I guess its possible.

It’s honestly sickening how the Bengal game is shaping up again. They’re gonna all be mocking us for injury excuses again, when their entire team is fully healthy again. Obviously don’t want to rush anyone back for a week 2 game, but god damn it Burrow only ever plays good against us when we’re riddled with injuries. I’m worried about Lamar with two key starters out on the line, forget about establishing the run game too. Andrews is clearly important but assuming they’re both capable Humphrey is the more important guy to have back for this one

Interesting last question/segment from John. Went asked about what he thinks is the driver for injuries, he basically said he thinks the NFL is antiquated with its offseason program. Not enough ramp-up and practice time for the players. Thinks structure of the offseason is too short.

Also partially amuses me because the NFLPA in the last decade has pushed very hard for reducing practice workloads, less mandatory practices, substantial breaks in portion of the offseason, etc.

It's a tough situation. These guys are already going hard, even if for shorter periods, in training camp. Wonder if the answer is some sort of blend - an earlier start to TC but more routine off days. They basically go 5-6 days at a time right from the jump.

Honestly by about 430pm on Sunday, this game screams a loss to me anyway. With or without injuries. Good teams like Cincy aren't going to get embarrassed two weeks in a row. Week 2 in the NFL is historically when the public realizes at least half of what they saw in week 1 isn't indicative of anything.

Part of it's on John. He's decided he's not going to expose a lot of guys to playing time in the preseason, which is fine. They can lean on the "joint practices", which I agree hold value, but those joint practices are occurring at least a month before week 1.

I think he makes valid points though. Ravens aren't the only team with volume of injuries after week 1, nor were we the only team that looked sloppy and out of sync. At least half the league did, and some looked exponentially worse.
If it's a league-wide problem, then the league needs to figure out what the issue is.

I care that players miss games. I don't give a flying fuck what other teams fans say about it.

And I care more about whether those players are available later in the year for more critical games. Conceptually, the next game is almost always more important than the previous game, just because there's a finite # of games and you can make up for losses in the past by winning games in the future.

I care that Lamar missed December for two straight years. If he missed September instead, I would care a lot less.

Two other things I noted from John's PC:
1. We are not in the RB market, so what we have is what we're going with (at least for now)
2. Sounds like RYS not playing much was just a result of him still coming back from injury. He should continue to increase snaps. Sounds like we may be looking more at rotation of guys, even when Marlon is back, at those #2/#3 spots.

Been saying this for years. People complain "oh Harbaugh is too hard on them", which has always been wrong.The CBA changes have made these guys too soft.
