If Wink runs a lot of nickle and dime then it would definitely be worth our time to grab a potentially top tier cb. A dime package with Jimmy, Humphrey, Young, and Ward would shut down most passing games, and really let our passrushers get after QBs.

16th for a nickle back? Im not sure im on board with that unless we believe he can play outside on our defense. Not gonna spend the 16th pick on a guy whos gonna play less than 40% of snaps. The 1st round pick needs to be a starter. At 16 i want a guy who can play at least 60% of defensive snaps. I think guys like Evans, Derwin James, and Roquan Smith can bring you that production. But not if your bringing in Ward to be a nickle. I think he could play outside and be great but itd be such a logjam and im sure some team ahead of us will take him before we can

I would take Roquan, Ridley, Nelson and James over Ward. I’m saying if those players a off the board at 16 I would take Ward b4 reaching for a WR or tackle. Ward can play outside unless he comes in sub 5’10. I mean I think he could play outside at sub 5’10 but it wouldn’t be a sure enough thing to pick him at 16. There isn’t a tackle I like at 16. In my opinion McGlinchey needs to get lot stronger for the nfl b4 he will play to a top16 pick in my opinion. 16 is kinda no mans land in this draft. This is the draft to package a No.2 pick next yr or a No.3 this draft and move up 6 spots or so. Would be nice to pick up an extra round2 to move back to late round1. But probably nobody at 16 for a team to move up and get. I would give up a round2 next yr to get into the top10 and have a realistic shot at players like Ridley, Nelson,Roquan, Edmunds, Chubb,James
 
James is one of the few defensive players I'd be okay with picking at 16. I think he's going to be a premier player in the NFL, especially if he gets to take some notes from Weddle.

Yup. Pretty much everything i love about James (other than his A+ character) in one article. Hes truly an elite cover prospect and his blitzing has always been underrated. I know this sounds funny when i say it but hes like a linebacker and a corner in one person(yes thats what you want from a safety but who is ever that physically gifted of a prototype tbh....most safeties are 5'11)

Why isnt Jessie Bates getting any love? DJ gave him a 1st round grade according to his instagram.....then again...over 100 players are getting 1st round grades this time of year. But i do like what i see from this kid

Man, that's impressive stuff. Number 4 was a perfect mix of route recognition, speed and physicality. Coverage skills, athleticism and IQ, that's a rare combination. Wonder where his stock will end up but I'll give him a look.

He had 5 picks as a RS Freshman last year. Just a natural ball hawk. Would love for him to be groomed by Weddle. If we can get him as a steal

Because he plays for Wake Forest, and it's kinda rare for any Wake Forest guys to get a lot of hype. If he's there in the middle rounds, we definitely should grab him to eventually take over for Weddle.
 
Donte Jackson is a baaaaddd man.....too bad hes the most unlikely player we draft...consider were stacked at corner AND hes from LSU. Would be nice though, cause Donte nice..
 
Also, Kameron Kelly from SDSU has caught my eye. Tall, fluid athlete, can play CB and S. I watched a game of his + the Senior Bowl, I like the possibilities he offers.
 
Derwin James is who everyone wanted HHCD to be. He's quite potentially Charles Woodson in kam chancellors body(ya know, counting for inflation when he inevitably gains muscle mass over the years). I think he's gonna be special and we are gonna need 2 main things on defense in a few years: a playmaking safety, and an A-type personality to be the face of the defense, he covers both in spades

I don't necessarily love his tape but I read a guy from ndtscouting ay his tape showed a super smart and crafty CB and it shows in that interview.
