Suggs is a perfect example of why the combine, never mind just the bench press, honestly isn’t important...like at all.I guess I’ve never really been worried about bench press numbers good or bad - they’ve only ever (at most) been the glaze on top of the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake of an evaluation for me - for the most part I just completely disregard them
Suggs, more than anything, got screwed because of the mindset of the NFL during that time. Smaller, more athletic edge rushers weren't really a thing. Freeney and Jason Taylor were considered exceptions rather than trend setters. So Suggs got the advice to bulk up for the combined, which in turned caused him to do poorly in the speed drills.Suggs is a perfect example of why the combine, never mind just the bench press, honestly isn’t important...like at all.
Oh absolutely without a doubt he should be in the mix.@JoeyFlex5 - watched more tape on wynn - im now on board with him being in the top 16 players in the draft - im not sure he ends up BPA when we are on the clock at 16 but i do now think he's worth that pick if he is BPA when we get there
I really won't mind a trade down. I feel the talent from 25-40 isn't much of a dipoff for what we need. I don't really feel there is a wr (besides Ridley) or a TE who should be picked at 16. Maybe if someone really nice falls to us, but the Cards will likely fuck as over as they need a lot of similar positions as us. No way Ridley or Nelson would possibly fall past them (In the highly unlikely chance those guys drop out of the top 10 that is)
That would be fantastic, but it's easier said than done. Especially when a lot of teams will be vying for a top 10-13 pick.I 100% want a trade back - if we can get a big trade down we can maybe get another high(ish) pick - i want as many day 2 picks as possible this year

I don't remember that ever happening, but We have traded back and than back up before.yeah just spitballing (and no team will do this) but could we spend draft capital to move up with always having the intention to move back down - the trade up would be to get a more advantageous position for a team to trade up to and then you auction off that pick to the highest bidder...
it will never happen but it could be a move lol...
Yep, without question, that is who I'd call first. That being said, I believe the Bills will be using their draft capital they acquired last year to move into the top 10. jmoDaniel Jeremiah have us selecting mayfield with the 16th pick in his latest mock draft. I would be thrilled if he was there. Not for us, but that would for sure be a trade back. If mayfield and Lamar Jackson is available, make the call to buffalo and upsell!

Hell yeah, mason had a great career. Who wouldn’t want that for 10 yrs.I'm actually warming up to the idea of Ridley at 16. I think of him as, ironically, a Derrick Mason kind of guy. I know we all want the next Julio / OBJ, and Ridley isn't that, but I would be thrilled with ten years of Derrick Mason.
I think Ridley loses a bit of shine among the fans/media because everyone's used to the top Alabama receiver being in the game-breaker mould like Julio or Cooper. But he'd honestly be a dream get for me, especially given how much Marty's scheme is predicated on being a rhythm-backed offence that relies on getting a few catches and setting things up from there (almost like the opposite of what Cam used to do). A consistent 75-reception, 900- to 1000-yard receiver would probably have a domino effect that ends up curing a lot of ills for us. Who cares if he doesn't end up on Sportscenter every week, no-one watches that anymore anyway. Personally I'm hoping that the fact that he's a letdown against guys like Julio knocks his value enough for him to fall to 16.I'm actually warming up to the idea of Ridley at 16. The age is the only reason he might slide, seeing that Mike Evans, who signed 5y/$80 mil+ deal the other day, has 4 years of heavy NFL experience at the same age.Ridley is better then any of the WRs who went in the top 10 in last years draft IMO. I don't think teams and the media like him as much as the fans do and I think he can slide to our pick. I would be happy to see him selected with our first pick even though he's a bit older then all the other prospects.
