Baltimore Orioles Discussion (2017 Season)

Hoo boy. I'm glad I'm not in Dan's shoes lol.

Kickin Texas's butt. Now I don't know what I want them to do.
It would probably still be wise to sell some of the older guys and rebuild the farm a little bit. The team is still too inconsistent for my liking and we don't want to be set back by getting rid of our young guys. Or they can just wait until the offsesason and re-evaluate then.

Sell now while the iron is hot. There are many teams in the thick of a playoff race who badly need relievers (Dodgers, Angels) and have excellent farm systems to sell with.

iirc, I think the Astros have also been mentioned as having a good farm in other Orioles discussions I've read.

I'm selling. But not the good ones. :p
At this point I think Oriole management needs to ask themselves if they are going to be willing to pay Britton or Machado what they realistically can get on the open market after the 2018 season. If not, they need to start looking for the best return they can get for them, with starting pitching prospects being number one on our wish list. With our current starting pitching I feel out ceiling is that of a mediocre team.

Well, that was an unfortunate ending to the game, but I was kind of expecting a loss with Ubaldo pitching. :(

Orioles traded for Jeremy Hellickson. I haven't seen anything official yet, but supposedly for AA pitcher Garret Cleavinger, international money, and maybe a major leaguer.

While I'm disappointed that we traded for a starter, I'm kind of ok with who we gave up. Cleavinger did not appear to be impressing at Bowie and Kim wasn't exactly playing well either. Hellickson also gets one of Miley or Ubaldo out of the rotation. He's probably not a major upgrade, but it's something different.

Adam with a pretty cool catch too.
