I'm glad we picked up a future 4th. I've always been a believer that gaining additional picks next year is better than not in most cases. You can really flip picks doing that and I'm glad we did it for once. I think that's a smart move and a very good trade.

I’ve said this since before last season. Bulk him up and turn him into a TE where he’d thrive. Everyone scoffed at it but most folks would like to see the change because it could benefit him and secure his spot
Yeah maybe, but most TEs have at least good hands. Boykin doesn't really have the hands to do it. I feel like Boykin has a case of the Perrimanitis where the ball hits him in the hands and it bounces off of his hands or he simply has bad communication with the QB and misreads the call.

he's also not physical enough to survive at TE
Yeah man, I'd even convert him to OL but he's just not nasty enough. He is in a weird spot because he isn't physical and doesn't use his size, but he can block downfield. Maybe he'd make a good FB or RB? I don't know. I can't see him playing CB, he isn't physical enough in that regard. He doesn't have the hands to play TE nor the physicality to do it. Gets lazy in his routes. He just isn't a good football player.

he is what he is - a good downfield blocker and rotational special teams gunner

Ed "stone hands" Dixon would like to challenge that assertion
