Around the NFL: News and Rumors

  • Multiple sources confirmed David Njoku suffered a broken wrist.
Njoku is looking at missing at least one month, but he's still seeking opinions on if he needs surgery or not. The Browns have a Week 7 bye, so Njoku might not make a return until Week 8's matchup in New England. In the meantime, the Browns are likely scanning the free agent and trade markets because Demetrius Harris is the current backup. It's possible that Jarvis Landry becomes slightly more involved over the middle.

Didn't he suffer concussion vs Jets as well?

Intimidating a witness now AB? Based on previous text messages, we figured out your a total creep and now going as far as this? When someone resorts to this in a court case, it means they are hiding something. Now the NFL can suspend him since he violated the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.

Brown reportedly has sent a group text message to the woman, accusing her of fabricating a “bull sh-t” story in an effort to “make up some stuff for money.” He also called her a “super broke girl with a lot of kids,” and he encouraged someone to whom Brown refers as “Eric B” to investigate her in order to “see how broke this girl is.”

Brown also sent a screen shot of an Instagram photo of the woman’s children, adding that the woman is “awfully broke clearly.” On Thursday night, the woman’s lawyer sent a letter to the NFL explaining that Brown is “intimidating and threatening . . . our client, in violation of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.”

The Personal Conduct Policy expressly prohibits “talking, harassment, or similar forms of intimidation.”

Wow that little psycho should be kicked out of NFL tomorrow then dealt with by police, courts and then inmates.

  • JALEN RAMSEYDB, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

ESPN's Jenna Laine reports the Jaguars are seeking two first-rounders in exchange for Jalen Ramsey.
As they should for a 25-year-old No. 1 corner capable of eliminating No. 1 wideouts. Ramsey requested a trade, but he insisted Tuesday it was not his camp who leaked the news. Ramsey is disillusioned in Jacksonville, especially with the amount of zone coverage he must play under DC Todd Wash. Ramsey has been connected to the Chiefs, but a team source has refuted those rumors. It's looking more and more likely that if Ramsey plays a final game as a Jag, it will be Thursday against the Titans.

2 first rounders for Ramsey? Good luck with that Jags ...

So - this source is of the mind that is an appropriate asking price because of his talent ... discounting completely the concerns about what lies in between his ears. Mack was worth 2 first rounders ... Ramsey? You cannot be serious.

Someone might pay that, but if they do, you can immediately label them a bad organization. I cannot fathom any sane organization giving that up for him (which would include us).

I agree. I doubt we will trade 2 1st rounders for Ramsey

Wow, that's a shame. I thought it was just a concussion.

I really liked how Ryan Clark reviewed that play to indicate how it was Baker that got him annihilated. A previous post talked about the Browsn seeking to design plays to get the ball out of Baker's hand quicker because of their suspect O line, but some of this is just Baker. Clark showed that he had Njoku open in the middle of the field, but held the ball forcing him to go to the sideline and then delivered a high ball that got him killed.

Perhaps its just cause he's on the enemy, but Baker's getting on my nerves. He's acting like he thinks he's a premiere QB in this league and he's yet to really accomplish anything. For our benefit, I hope he struggles mightily - and if he does - you can bet his prima donna WRs are going to start talking.

When Baker Mayfield has been under pressure this season, he has a QB rating of 40. You read that right...40. Aaron Donald is coming to town this week for SNF

Panthers officially ruled out QB Cam Newton due to his foot injury, meaning Carolina QB Kyle Allen will start Sunday vs Cardinals.
Wow - I selected McCaffery in fantasy over Saquon because I feared a Daniel Jones would be under center for the Giants early in the season (check) and would turn their offense into a dumpster fire (remains to be seen) and that McCaffery would be working with a fresh and healed Cam (WRONG).

Note: fantasy draft occurred after Cam hurt his ankle preseason.

Oh well. I've no idea what Kyle Allen is going to give them, but he can't look any worse than Cam did last Thursday.

i think mccaffrey might be qb proof given how good he is in all phases
and with newton out he may get even more targets in the passing game because of how reliable he is and how good he is after the catch

I sure hope so - last week Newton was mostly fucking up timing for McCaffrey's runs and catches.

I'd like to think so, but he wasn't QB proof last Thursday. They kept running him into a brick wall and failing to get the ball to him on screens. 2 catches for 16 yards? Seriously?

They need to go with anyone besides Cam until Cam is at least reasonably healthy. Right now, he looks like he's held together with duct tape.

I saw this on the net for the Eagles to trade for Ramsey.

Rosenblatt’s offer:

Eagles get: CB Jalen Ramsey, 2020 sixth-round pick, 2021 seventh-round pick

Jaguars get: CB Sidney Jones, 2020 first-round pick, 2020 third-round pick, 2021 fifth-round pick

Analysis: I used the recent Minkah Fitzpatrick trade with the Steelers as a baseline. The Steelers gave up a first-round pick, fifth-round pick and 2021 sixth-round pick and in exchange received Fitzpatrick, a 2020 fourth-round pick and a 2021 sixth-round pick.

It will likely take more than that to get Ramsey, who is a superior (and more proven) player than Fitzpatrick and, by all accounts, is drawing significant interest around the league.

In this deal, the Eagles swap a promising (but unproven) young corner in Jones, plus two early-round 2020 picks and a 2021 mid-round pick and in exchange get back a 2020 sixth-round pick and another late-round pick in 2021.
