Around the NFL: News and Rumors

I saw this on the net for the Eagles to trade for Ramsey.

Rosenblatt’s offer:

Eagles get: CB Jalen Ramsey, 2020 sixth-round pick, 2021 seventh-round pick

Jaguars get: CB Sidney Jones, 2020 first-round pick, 2020 third-round pick, 2021 fifth-round pick

Analysis: I used the recent Minkah Fitzpatrick trade with the Steelers as a baseline. The Steelers gave up a first-round pick, fifth-round pick and 2021 sixth-round pick and in exchange received Fitzpatrick, a 2020 fourth-round pick and a 2021 sixth-round pick.

It will likely take more than that to get Ramsey, who is a superior (and more proven) player than Fitzpatrick and, by all accounts, is drawing significant interest around the league.

In this deal, the Eagles swap a promising (but unproven) young corner in Jones, plus two early-round 2020 picks and a 2021 mid-round pick and in exchange get back a 2020 sixth-round pick and another late-round pick in 2021.
Our apparent offer is way better.

Wow the Patriots cut AB. I wonder if they had anything in their contract with him that allows them to get out of some of the money they owe him?

they had agreed to pay him 5m on 9/23 and the other 4m in January. I'm sure he is still getting the 9m.

If Antonio Brown does not wind up receiving his $9M signing bonus from the Patriots (the first $5M was due to be paid on Monday), he will go from a $30M guarantee in March to $9M guaranteed to just $158,333 made for 2019. - via Field Yates on Twitter

Wow - I selected McCaffery in fantasy over Saquon because I feared a Daniel Jones would be under center for the Giants early in the season (check) and would turn their offense into a dumpster fire (remains to be seen) and that McCaffery would be working with a fresh and healed Cam (WRONG).

Note: fantasy draft occurred after Cam hurt his ankle preseason.

Oh well. I've no idea what Kyle Allen is going to give them, but he can't look any worse than Cam did last Thursday.
If you haven’t done so try FanDuel, you change your team every week and work with a cap, it’s a blast. I’m in a league with 12 others that my boss organized, but I think you can play single public games every week. For me it’s the only way to play fantasy.

Im in shock rn. But respect the pats for doing the right thing.

honestly when the news broke they should have cut him last friday - or at least not played him on sunday

it also means there's no real rush for the nfl to investigate so i sincerely doubt a team picks him up until the nfl investigation is finished

Respect the pats for doing what? Helping AB run a scam so they could sign him? And now they’ve only done what they had to do, just a matter of days until the league would have come down on him. Fuck the pats, scummy unethical trash.

Antonio Brown is history. He's finished. Kaput. Finito. Now let's move on to Baker Mayfield who many here believe is the next coming of Montana.
According to Colin Cowherd (a total douche by the way), here is what he had to say about Baker Mayfield and strangely he made sense to me. After 2 games this season while many want to undermine Lamar's performance with a 'wait and see' if he can do it against better teams 'excuse', here is the reality on the unathletic, cocky and arrogant 'crotch grabbing', 'beer bonging' punk QB of the Browns. Watch the whole clip and I'm not stopping crapping on Baker every chance I get too....

believe he will get the 9M guarantee.

Assuming he gets the 9m from the Patriots, he has lost way more than 20m. Nike also pulled out as a sponsor.

dude cowherd has had it in for mayfield since before the draft
and he has it more in for mayfield since mayfield called him out on his bullshit

i know a lot of people here love to hate mayfield because of the way he holds himself but beyond being cocky he's done literally nothing wrong in the league

What follows is a comprehensive description of the sympathy I feel for Brown:
