Signings, Cuts, Trades

Yea I’m broke in this bitch. Fuck California
I thought we already sorted out Operation Free JAAM, get out if there

Maybe a few more names than normal but also have to realize that there’s no reason for them to rush right now. Not like teams are about to run out of money. So the teams sit and wait while the players figure out what’s best for them at this point. Classic case where teams aren’t going to bid themselves up for impatience. Let them sit out there and the market comes to them when those players are ready.

also worth mentioning that the comp pick cut-off is earlier now than it was 2 or 3 years ago so more incentive to wait a little longer (rather than a lot longer)

makes the draft the catalyst for phase 4 of free agency rather than some arbitrary far away point in the future

Saw some chatter about ravens interest in melvin ingram on twitter as if it had been reported somewhere recently...

anyone seen any of those reports or help me track down whether they're bullshit or not? caught me by surprise because i havent even seen fake rumours about it anywhere

That dumb NFL Rumors account

Holy fuck for real? His career is might end up getting dramatic lol

Iunno if that source is credible, but 10th over seems hella rich for that dude. But I’m looking at it from a haters perspective, since I don’t like DK lol. So who knows

Bills give Stefon Diggs a new deal.

Another mega deal: Bills reached agreement with WR Stefon Diggs on a 4-year, $104 million extension that includes $70 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN. Deal ties Diggs to Buffalo for six more years, at $124.1M, with the intent from both sides to have him retire in Buffalo.

How do we compete with this silliness across the board? What is Marquise going to demand now? Like Josh did with Diggs, will Lamar force the Ravens to hand out big money to Hollywood? Diggs and Hollywood aren't the same players. I'm so conflicted about the way we are building our roster vs other teams in the AFC. They're going all-in with star players.

My suspicion is he may be one of the free-agent signings EDC was referring to. I think they've agreed in principle with a couple of free agents. They'll announce it in the next few days. We don't have to wait a couple of weeks.

Well none of these big money deals I've really seen are something I'd be worried about with Hollywood, because a lot of these guys are legitimate like top 5-10 receivers who have produced a lot more than Hollywood has.

That being said... Hollywood will cost, at a minimum, $15M a year, and probably closer to $20M. I'd be staring directly at the likes of Allen, Cooper, Godwin, Williams, Golladay and Kirk, and thinking that's where he should be.

I also think something like probably $40-50M guaranteed is realistic.

One point I’ve seen mentioned a few times here is that you likely won’t find a LT insurance outside the first round. I think that’s completely bogus. There have been more than a few top LT who have succeeded who were drafted after the first round. Armstead is a great example of one such player. Yes you will more likely find one early but that is not mutually exclusive. It depends on the draft and a lot of factors.

As for Hollywood, we need to decide now whether we’re keeping him. I think he’s about to be priced out of our range and if he is someone we will keep then work on his extension otherwise be ready to let him walk and have a replacement.

I think Brown will command $22m/year at the minimum. I think your numbers are delusional if you think we have any chance at getting him for $15M. Brown will have the fifth year option next year in 2024 so by the time Brown gets a deal if we wait his price will be in the $25M+ range easily. Next year the rate may be at $20M minimum. I think the time for $15M has past because the tag and fifth year options will be close to or above that.
