Could move James Urban to that position but there also The Ravens coaching analyst T.J Weist who had plenty of experience with coaching wide receivers but mainly at the college level.
I doubt Urban gets moved there comsiderimg QB coach is a higher position than WR coach. This would be a relative demotion. That being said, Urban is a very good wr coach, but he also did an excellent job with Lamar this season. Why change that?

I dont really disagree at all with your statement when it comes to James Urban. It all comes down to how Greg Roman feel about the situation.Im not doubting Urban skills as a quarterback coach but most of his experience doing so was under Marty Morhinweg. Now Marty is gone and I have no clue if Greg Roman plans to change the offensive system entirely. Urban has more experience as a wide receiver coach than quarterback coach in all different types of offensive system since The Bengals have went from having Jay Gruden, Hue Jackson, Bill Lazor and etc as their offensive coordinator. The Ravens could move him to wide receiver coach just base off his resume along in that area cause he clearly would be one of if not the best wide receiver coach available if he was a free agent but at the same time they could also make him a passing game coordinator as well while The Ravens have more seasoned quarterback coach work with Lamar Jackson.

honestly there's no way we move urban laterally - and im not sure we change his role at all for a few reasons::
  1. He's built up a strong rapport with Lamar and has fairly clear guidance for him
  2. Lamar has shown astronomical progress both mechanically and more cerebral qb traits - and importantly has shown an ability to learn from certain mistakes (that's good to see from lamar but may well be partly attributable to great coaching)
  3. While a move to wr coach would technically be a lateral move, in actuality it's not... I'm speculating (but I speculated this when he was hired also) that Urban has designs on progressing up the coaching ladder to become an OC and eventually a HC but it's much easier to make that move from QB coach than WR coach - in terms of career progress TE coach and QB coach are by far the best offensive position coaches for advancement but QB coach especially because they're involved in game-planning and designing around their position's strengths
  4. We are 100% not worried about Urban's experience as a QB coach - he's shown already that he's good at that job

Lmao and that’s the same person commenting “people just read stats and don’t watch the games smh”

Yeah, even if you decide to throw stats out the window, Williams had very few games where I even noticed he was on the field. Pierce, on the other hand, was making a ton of splash plays and absolutely dominating people for most of the season. This dumb ass must have a crush on Williams or something because I don't know how anyone can watch the games and say that Williams was better than Pierce this year.

so it's being reported that thomas hammock has indeed been tapped to be HC at Norther Illinois

so we really are likely looking at at a vacancy at WR, and RB coach

also - my guess about the state of the ravens is that because we made the playoffs it was untenable to have our usual early january end of season presser and it's not tenable right now because the front office and scouting department are at the all-star games

so my best guess is that like last year (albeit last year was unprecedentedly late - and only Steve) we will get the state of the ravens between the senior bowl and superbowl - which would be between jan 26th and feb 3rd

Stupid Arizona, if they didn't already take the Steelers RB coach he would have been a great replacement.

Who's the Alabama RB Coach?

If AJ Brown is still on the board then we better rush to the podium to pick him.
I'm skeptical from players from Ole Miss. A lot of busts and many with off the field issues as well. Not saying this will happen with A. J. Brown, but I'd probably pass on him in favor of another equal prospect.

Just look at the list of players taken from that school and you'll see what I mean.

That just means he'd fit in perfectly here with our long and honored tradition of drafting WR busts!

His highlights look impressive so I wouldn't be mad if we took him. O-line needs to be top priority though so only if Decosta feels like Brown is that much better than who's available at G/C.
