The Random Thought Thread

I'd agree that he handicapped us starting in 2015, but 2014 was his best season as that was Kubiak's year. I won't go as far as to say he destroyed us, he didn't have players around him to succeed and he isn't an elite QB so he couldn't make the players around him better.

The Flacco problem compounded because he wasnt an elite QB but we paid him like one, then we couldnt afford to put anyone around him.

That isn't actually true. The contract was set up so they had plenty of money to pay people. Go look at those early cap hits (6m 14m 14m); the problem is they paid all the wrong people. Monroe was a bust, Pitta got injured and no real talent was drafted on O.

2 extremely random thoughts. I saw a cool video from Baltimore Ravens.com of Lamar and ingram having fun on the sideline I think during the Bengals game. Lamar calls himself blade and ingram starts freestyle rapping something. I just don't know the blade reference and I can't quite make out what Mark was saying. If anyone can help me out lol I'd appreciate it

The ravens just imploded, we felt we had the foundation of the team locked up for years to come and the next generation of great ravens. Elam and Arthur brown, Monroe, ray rice, Dennis pitta, haloti ngata, and we relied on the likes of Chris canty and Michael huff to become the new elder statesmen on the team, what a goddamn disaster.

Seems the ONLY wise FA move made in that whole stretch was Steve Smith and Justin forsetts one year deal, the extension was a mistake though.

The only saving grace was a work of the fax machine, not our FO.

Imagine if instead of drafting Perriman, we drafted Frank Clark

we'd be wondering why we didnt pick preston smith or jaquiski tartt or ali marpet or david johnson or danielle hunter or kwon alexander etc.

lots of teams have been fully happy to write off the 2015 class and wipe it from their minds

in the end we at least found a couple of pieces even while missing on all our day 1 and 2 picks: ZDS, boyle

Just posted the link!

the blade reference is a reference to these films:

I totally agree. That was just one of those drafts where we just didn't get it right. I'll be the first to admit however, I was super hyped about the Perriman pick. I really thought people were gonna fear his speed and that maybe we could get something out of him like Torrey Smith. I was way wrong. Recent drafts have been much better and that's pretty awesome

i think you'll feel a little better when you look at all the other teams in the nfl and what they did in that 2015 draft - i think there's a lot of gms and front office execs who have nightmares about that draft class and classes like it - so short on both top tier talent and depth and almost every position

especially when trestmans offense was more inside zone and Forsett was an outside zone RB.
