The Random Thought Thread

Random thought: Joe Burrow isn't going to be good.

College record books are full of noodle armed QBs who filled the stat sheet but became league average pros at best because of their lack of ideal traits, and Joe is no different. He is a warm weather sec QB with a noodle arm and small hands, how will he be able to consistently drive downfield in the AFCN snow and rain and wind against NFL talent?
When I evaluate QBs and WRs I try to determine if one made the other one better. In Burrow's case, he was a largely unknown QB until last year. This year he had CEH, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, and the best O line in CFB. If you can't succeed with those weapons you don't even have any business being drafted. Lets see what happens.

I disagree very strongly here. Joe burrow is an extremely anticipatory qb, he just has Peyton-like intuition and understanding of coverages, he isn’t a noodle arm either he just isn’t a rocket armed type of qb, he still makes tight window throws constantly because his release timing is so perfect and he’s seeing windows before they open. He’s also super poised in the pocket and an underrated athlete and has supreme confidence in a very good way.

I personally think burrow is the real goddamn deal and I’m not looking forward to him in the division, and I hope we keep this defense churning because the bengals will be a problem on offense starting around 2021, and they just drafted 2 really good linebackers who might give our offense a lot of trouble.

I really disagree but I guess we will see what he becomes

I don’t follow the bengals team. How’s their O-line? I know they’re getting Jonah Williams back.

skura putting in the work - he will not lay down and let the injury beat him

I remember everyone on this board calling him a bum etc...I believe I only had 1 or 2 folks agree with me about his potential. A lot is riding on how he bounces back. What kind of injury did he sustain? Also did they ever say what exactly happened to DeShon Elliott?

PCL, MCL, ACL and dislocated his knee cap. I was one of the ones that thought he could improve in year two, btw.

Also, they never said exactly what happened to Elliott, but it was something related to his knee.

EDC is a master of saying something without really saying anything.

If he were to say no, the media will probably spin that story into GM vs Lamar. So he just kept it open. GG.

Although I wouldn’t necessarily mind it, there’s a snowball’s chance in hell we sign AB. Just your normal GM talk.

deshon’s injury was never officially announced but I’ve seen the play where he got injured numerous times and he got rolled up on and it’s been described as a knee so that suggests an ACL tear or something similar

i can see the headlines on YouTube ESPN clips now...
“(SHOCKING)ERIC DECOSTA DOESNT BELIEVE IN LAMAR JACKSONS ABILITY TO THROW. WONT ADD RECEIVERS!”

Thinking about the screen game next year and watching Oklahoma as I always find something interesting in their offense. This is a really interesting screen play. They only release the tackle late to get out in front of the back. a 2x2 set with verticals running off defenders . watch the bind the edge guy is in because of the LT's timing on his release and the somewhat late release by the back.

Skura tore three ligaments in his knee, thats the same injury that ended Nico Siragusas NFL career. I'm shocked that hes not only returning but doing so this quickly, I just hope he can still be the same player.

He should just rehab and rebuild the shit out of it until training camp 2021
