Ngl I had Hakeem Butler ranked #1. But I've never seen why or what made Harry a 1st rounder. Generally speaking the Patriots have their own approach to the draft. Their early selections are always weird to me.
I wish we'd question our own wr scouting process.
Hopefully Proche gets more opportunities. We need to know where we're at and what we have at wr going into this offseason.
the seahawks too
it often feels like those 2 teams are operating off completely different draft boards to everyone else - notable that the patriots though haven't really been that good of a drafting team over the last decade generally but the combination of Tom Brady and Bill Bellicheck hides a lot of issues and also they've been masters at finding value in free agency and their pro-personnel scouting department was clearly exceptional
hakeem butler was high on a lot of people's boards that year (including mine) - there were a lot of highly touted "big" receivers in that class and almost all of them have been awful: nkeal harry, hakeem butler, kelvin harmon, jj arcega-whiteside
the only one who's done everything is the one that a ton of people rejected out of hand - DK Metcalf
but yeah hakeem butler was probably my (and most of this board's) biggest WR miss that year
sidenote: I still can't believe Chauncey Gardner-Johnson was allowed to go in the 4th round - he was one of my favourite players in that whole class - i had him just outside the top 25 of the whole class lol - imagine if we'd taken him in stead of boykin at the end of the 3rd how well set up the back-end would be here
