Totally agree. Even if we bring someone in, I can't imagine that's gonna be a slot guy. I think it's his job to lose

Have the Steelers "figured" Lamar out? I'm getting tired of hearing this from Steelers fans, but I can't really shit since his worst games come against them.

I feel the same, I think duvernay is gonna be given the job but I think by seasons end he’s gonna be relegated to gadget plays and I think wallace steps up while proche becomes wr3. And just to be clear, I don’t think any of that is good news lol.
I think it’s more that they’ve figured out Roman’s run design, and I believe Lamar can win against them with his arm but the past 2 years our line hasn’t held up in pass pro against them and as a result lamar hasn’t played well.
Also there’s a solid chance he beats them in Pitt in 2021 if we weren’t down to zero corners in the fourth
idk that duvernay necessarily enters the season with that job - but i do think he probably enters OTAs and probably training camp too that way...
but i think it's going to be an open competition for those WR2 and WR3 spots if we dont add a vet (and there arent that many positions with open competitions)
right now in terms of competition we're looking at WR2, WR3, TE3 (but TE4 is making the roster unless they really suck) and i think that's it... maybe LG depending on whether they give Mekari that job or let the others compete...

What gives you any indication that Lamar will be better than Cousins this year? I mean his actual play might be, but with Bateman and that unproven WR corps no way in heck he does anything passing wise as close as Cousins will with Jefferson and crew

Ravens have selected in the top half (picks 1-16) of the first round 11 times. They have missed once with Travis Taylor. I'd be curious to see where this stacks up against other teams since '96.

Hamilton is in very good company.
Obviously we are aware Ravens draft very well but when you look at it this way it is really incredible what Ozzie, Decosta and co. have done. You can almost guarantee you get a stud when Ravens pick top 16. Incredible. Don't want to overhype Hamilton but this adds another element to feel really good about this pick.

2007-Lawrence Timmons- 10 year anchor MLB. 1 Pro Bowl
2014- Ryan Shazier- 4 year career before career ending injury. 2 Pro Bowls in 4 years. Looked great before the injury
2019- Devin Bush- Great rookie season, injured 2nd season, bounce back 3rd season. Up and down player
What's interesting is the last 3 times the Steelers had a pick in the top half of round 1 they've taken middle linebackers. Some good players but not close to the Ravens haul

2002- Albert Haynesworth 2 All Pros 2 Pro Bowls. Signed the biggest free agent contract ever at the time. Great 7 years for the Titans and then horrible once he got paid by others
2005- Adam "Pacman" Jones - Compete disaster for the Titans. Cut after off the field issues after year 2. Turned it around in his 30s for the Bengals 1 All Pro 1 Pro Bowl

These are all good AFC organizations who have competed with the Ravens since 96. It's clear to me that Ozzie's reputation as a great GM is very well deserved.
