Joe Flacco

Wasn't the 2nd interception exactly this. Tight coverage good throw, little late maybe and bounced of moores chest.

Heck even the perriman one he split over under coverage and he dropped it.
As far as the Amos interception goes, that was the most flukey bounce I have seen. Fuller is in perfect position to get his hand in between Moore's and knock the ball away and... it hits Moore's shoulder pad. The fact that it wasn't incomplete is pretty crazy to me.

On the Perriman one, perfect throw, but I think that would have been popped up all the same after the hit. That hit was nasty.

Ross tucker who was at the game said its the worst game for wide receiver play hes ever seen.

No one on either side was ever open.
That doesn't surprise me for this particular game. The Bears have a really good secondary as do the Ravens; both teams were without actual receiving talent in this game.

But the crazy thing to me is that the Bears realized this and then said they were going to run Cohen and Howard all day long. The Ravens saw this and went, "Well, let's keep throwing."

I think if he went elsewhere he could have had a better career. I know he has the super bowl but the team does not build around him and makes his job one of the hardest.
I think this is a really false narrative because the Ravens spend the 16th most cap on the offense and the 28th most on the defense with $19M more going to the offense than the defense.

I know people get really upset when the draft favors the defense and skill positions aren't drafted, but when you start to see Crockett Gillmore, Perriman, Maxx Williams, Mark Clayton, Travis Taylor, etc., you start to understand that the Ravens may just really not be the best at developing talent. So the Ravens look to free agency.

And the Ravens consistently try to put pieces around Joe. They went out and signed Mike Wallace to a really big deal. They were immediate aggressive players for Jeremy Maclin. They made Benjamin Watson their first ever signing in the legal tampering period. They traded for Boldin. They were quick to get Austin Howard. They made Danny Woodhead a huge priority signing.

The thing is, the Raven work a ton to put pieces around Joe. But when you carry the highest cap hit in the entire NFL, you're not going to be getting Julio Jones. You're going to be getting some B tier pieces to work with and you're going to be expected to give an A or B tier effort with those pieces, not a D tier effort.

As for the game yesterday, I thought Joe had a few pretty good throws, but I thought for much of the day he was too conservative, situationally unaware, and late on many throws to allow the defensive backs time to make plays. I also understand that the offensive line got worked harder than any other game this season and the receivers couldn't really create amazing separation. Thing that bothers me is that we know Joe can move outside the pocket. Sure, he won't be a threat to run, but he can get out of the pocket and buy time. He can also fit it into incredibly tight windows. We just aren't seeing him consistently do either.

A dual threat that can play from the pocket, not an rg3 type.
That’s what I meant. Just someone athletic enough to move around if need be, a la Carson Wentz.

And largely what it's coming down to for me is that Joe has the highest cap hit in the NFL. Before when he had the big salary and low cap hits, we could still put some quality pieces around him. But now, you really are going to have to sacrifice a little bit because there's only so much cap space to go around and your play should reflect your pay to a degree. I'm not expecting Joe to be the best quarterback in the league, but playing like one of the worst in the league is pretty unacceptable.
Preach.

The thing about the Bears game is that it came down to one QB making a play and sadly, Trubisky made the play before Joe on that pass to Kendall Wright. There are times when you need your QB to become a play-maker and make a play and sadly Joe isn't doing it that often for us. We're paying him with the hopes that he can overcome things of that nature. It's sad that Mitchell Trubisky can do that for the Bears with literally no options to throw it to and we can't expect that from Joe.

Also, his cap space pretty much prevents us from getting a big name FA WR or even OL here. I'm pretty sure if his cap hit wasn't so high, that we probably would have made a play for Zeitler or someone of that nature.

A big name receiver does not change how offensively we are very predictable. I counted about 2 deep throws.

The play action? gone.

The one thing that I really hate that Flacco lacks is an ability to create for his team when a play isn't there. A Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Newton, Luck, etc. can all navigate the pocket and move around and keep a play alive. They can play backyard football and wait for a play to develop, even if it wasn't drawn up.

Joe just stands stationary and seems to get lost when the first few reads are covered.

His accuracy is terrible as well. It seems that he just can't hit receivers into their hands. They repeatedly have to slow down and bend to try and catch around the waist or lower. Perriman got killed on sunday on one of those, everybody wanted to behead Wallace vs Steelers after a similar drop, and so on. The only pass he makes fairly regularly with some accuracy these days is to a slot. There's also a fair share of completely blown plays, when receiver runs one route and he throws another, it's like they're playing different playbooks. He's lost all his confidence and I'm not sure pushing through this period is the best thing for him. Perhaps couple weeks on a bench would help.

Honestly thought there should have been a flag, dont think i seen a replay but looked illegal live

2 goal to gos and 6 passes both resulting in tucker fgs. Absolutely disgusting play calling.

Also noticed that collins doesn't get a look in inside the opponents redzone.

Which drives me crazy, what does he have to do? This guy looks like the best RB we've had since Ray R and we INSIST on taking him off the field

Careful what you say, you know it's not fashionable on these boards to recognize the truth.

Naw! What's not fashionable on these boards is to ALWAYS make excuses for Flacco's ineptness and his playing like ass after what? 10 seasons? Like getting delay of games and then running past the line of scrimmage and throwing the ball. Rookie type :poop::poop::poop:

But, his receivers did have stone hands and played like ass themselves yesterday and failed him with all of those damn drops.:lol::lol::lol:

Our offense has not done much in putting in Maxx or Perriman and game planning around them at all. Hell, we have Alex Collins the clear #1 RB on the team and we still don't play around him who has been the biggest spark on offense.

The reality is, we have not seen enough of Maxx and Perriman, that falls on coaching and not knowing what you have or how to use them. This is not rocket science at all, I remember I had a sit down with Dan Campbell before he became head coach of the Dolphins. The man spoke about Ryan T as if he was going to throw deep bombs to Mike Wallace.

I've watch the replay where Perriman dropped the pass that turned into an INT. Perriman clearly beat out his man and where was the ball thrown? I actually have to praise Perriman because so far I have seen him beat his man a couple of times very well in the last couple of games. Perriman beat his man with a safety over him to beat and Flacco underthrows the ball, he is LUCKY it was only a concussion. That man was folded like a lawn chair

Someone had mentioned this, and I agreed, that Collins probably won't get looks in the red zone until he doesn't fumble, but to not even give Allen looks in the red zone was very disheartening.

those 2 guys are always hurt. cannot make them the focal points when they are wrapped up like mummies every week

Maxx is the one who is always hurt, it's a physically demanding position. You work with what you have and hope they can stay healthy.

Perriman was left for dead, there's a difference. How is possible after all these years we have yet to get these guys rolling and see what the future could hold? How many times are they going to throw the ball to Watson 4 yards out?
