It's not a Joe Flacco thread (or any thread) unless it's criticizing him. To be fair, the critics have all the ammo they need. He's playing like crap and needs to step up his game in a big way. It's not all about everyone around him--the guy needs to hit guys in stride, throw guys open, avoid pressure, etc. He needs to make smart decisions. I think we need to draft a back-up QB who can apply pressure to him and replace him. I remember
@29BmoreBird22 and I talked about us needing to consider a QB back in the draft when we took Stanley. People called us crazy for considering it even in the top of the first round depending on who was there. Imagine if we somehow got Wentz and could have played him over Joe? Wow, what a difference it would be. I'm glad we have Stanley, but man.
You missed the point. A thread, or any thread doesn’t need to be all about
pessimistic criticisms. It can also be about ways to improve situations or how players could improve,
constructive criticism. Not saying anyone’s opinion is necessarily wrong, but a thread isn’t “.....useless” just because a player isn’t going to be cut or replaced. lol And yeah, it’s not
all about everyone around Joe, but it damn sure is a huge piece of the issues with the Ravens’ passing game. Who’s to say Joe wouldn’t gain confidence and play much better with some of the same consistent receiving talent all of the better teams have? I think you would agree that much of the quality of an NFL QB’s performance(i.e. hit guys in stride, throwing them open, etc.) is dependent upon confidence, not only in himself, but also in those who are supposed to be catching the ball.
Given a healthy Flacco, if he were throwing to a group like, let’s say Jeffries, Ertz, Agolohor, Smith, or say Diggs, Thielen, Rudolph, McKinnon, or even Brown, Schuster, Bryant, James, I would venture a guess that you and your friend would never have had the convo about drafting a QB instead of Stanley.
