2021 General Draft Thoughts

As great as a pass rusher or WR would be, I'm really starting to fall in love with some other positions at 27 if we stick there. Teven Jenkins is a dog and would fit right in there at G with maybe an eye toward T when OBJ leaves next year. Also love Grant and Moehrig at S. I feel like Grant in particular is a guy that isn't getting the media hype right now but will probably get some as we get closer and the media starts hearing things.

Richie grant could be our first round pick and I’d be ecstatic. He’s bar none my top safety in this class, and I think he’s gonna be one of the best safeties in the league for a very long time

grant is a classic case where it's just about waiting for the draft commentariat to start talking to actual team scouts etc. (normally by now we'd have had the combine where group think would have already started) and he'll start flying up boards

not found anyone with any negatives or issues about him - only tons of people watching the film and seeing awesome stuff and yet he seems to be completely absent from the mainstream draft coverage - that's even despite being at the senior bowl

in terms of a non-"need" position - idk about 27 - looking at who i've got graded in the first round it's only 10 of the 26 players who aren't OL/EDGE/Receiver and 4 of them are QBs... 7 receivers, 6 OL and 3 EDGE got 1st round grades from me

if i look at the early 2nd round grades it's a bit different though - still a lot of OL there too (5) but only 1 receiver and 1 edge

I don't love this safety class although i do like the top 3 (to me that's Grant, Moehrig and Washington - washington might fall on draft day though because he's not tested amazingly athletically and obviously lacks that size)

but i really like this CB class - absolutely stacked

If i look at how many prospects i've got graded somewhere on day 2 or higher:
15 EDGE
13 CB - and there's at least 4 highly-touted guys i havent watched or graded yet so this number could go higher
23 OL (13 OT, 7 OG, 3 C - i've got at least 3 highly-touted tackles left to watch too)
16 WR

there's obviously players that i've missed (because i've not been enthused) but i've only got 6 safeties, 8 LB, 5 DL, 5 RB, 2 TE graded day 2 or higher (tight end is awful this year)
worth pointing out that a couple of those LBs may be better suited to play SAM as well too...

i think WR is stacked in round 4 too

Last couple years I sent out a spreadsheet that listed a lot of gametape for all the college prospects in the upcoming draft. I can't seem to locate the new one, but can't figure out where I found it either. Here is an old one

If someone has it or knows where to find it, it would be very helpful

the guy stopped doing it this year i think

but here's something similar from a group of ppl

I'd like to see @Edgar and @rossihunter2 do some youtubes of some of the players available in the draft that you would like the Ravens to draft. @JoeyFlex5 has been on one or two of the videos with Edgar before, but it would be nice to have him on one of them. I'm sure @Truth would do one with you guys also.

haha i'd love to but it's just hard for me to find decent quality film i'd be happy breaking down (especially pre-draft)

i'll definitely be doing breakdowns of at least some of the guys the ravens draft though

Lol yeah I should rephrase, not content creating but literally anything where I’m recording myself talking and it’s being uploaded, I’m just not a big talker lol

haha i hate the sound of my own voice whenever i hear it back on recordings (used to do a lot of acting and it was always horrible seeing/hearing yourself whenever anything was screened)

Just looking at my draft grades and looking at where certain positions are the strongest/deepest in which areas of the draft

R1: WR + OL
R2: OL + DB
R3: EDGE
R4: WR + EDGE
R5: TE

the strength of this draft is at our biggest “need” positions and DB

I get that OL and WR are need positions, but I'd consider Edge a big need and wouldn't consider it a strength in the draft.

This is the feel I'm getting with OL in particular. A strong top of the class and then it kinda falls off. If we're hitting OL like you'd think, I expect it to be fairly early.

especially tackle but OL in general seems to fall off a cliff somewhere in the 4th round (in grades terms)
